This was by far the best B&B we ever stayed in!
First class room, clean,fresh and modern! The hostsPeter and Karin were very friendly and service minded!
Superb breakfast ! Beautiful nature in the surrounding perfekt for cykling walking and also very close to both German and Belgium border.  We really recommend this place!

Fantastic place!

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed the peaceful rest. Off the main road slightly, but really in rural Netherlands. Most other people staying we're there for the Peel experience; cycling or just hiking.
Piet and Karin have worked hard to get their place as it is now. 
We enjoyed a warm welcome. Fantastic, huge breakfasts with great variety. Facilities are superb, spotlessly clean. Endless coffee and tea (free) Cheap cold drinks. 
Great common room to sit and relax. Very secure, good parking. 
Hosts have excellent English.
Friendly customers / our new neighbours.


Tranquility in the country

Tasteful furnishings, a large bright room and spacious rooms overlooking the garden with private spaces. A comfortable bed with lavish underwear.

Warm welcome in a building submerged in soot

I really wanted to see the tulips in Holland this spring, but a business trip delayed our trip until it was too late to see the tulip fields, so I was looking for a plan b. As I was researching places to see to tulips, i ran across advertisements for the Floriade, a flower show that happens once a decade, was to be held in Venlo this year. Since this was closer for us than the Keukenhof, we  decided to try it out. On the website for the Floriade, I found this B&B listed under accommodations, and I'm so glad I did. The B&B was about 15 minutes from the Floriade, but is set amongst farms and really nice Dutch countryside.  The owners are super sweet and were fluent in English and, it seemed, also German (perhaps more). The B&B is located in what used to be the family's dairy barn.  

We also wanted to see windmills while in the Netherlands and Mr. van der Zwaan was very kind and directed us to 3 lovely ones not far away.  We had a lovely afternoon  driving around the countryside and seeing the windmills. The Windmill in Liessel, had an enclosed area with ducks, deer, chickens and other animals in it that my daughter really enjoyed.  We also came across a pony/miniature horse farm that had a field full of mothers and days old foals that was a unique surprise just a few minutes from the B&B.

From the outside the B&B has the charming look of Dutch barns, but the inside was turned into the b&b 4 years ago so is modern and very nice. Our room was on the ground floor and we had direct access to our car which was helpful when carrying in all the stuff for our 3 days stay with the baby. The floors in our room  appeared to be hardwood and the bathroom was nicely tiled.  The wall behind the bed had a floor to ceiling photo mural of a flower. Each room has it's own different flower theme. There were fresh flowers in vases on the bedside tables and tea and coffee makers in the room. The public areas were also very nice.  The breakfast area is was warm and inviting and included a nice coffee machine that made fancy coffees and hot cocoa that was available even after breakfast.  We enjoyed the couch and TV nook with a shelf of toys and games for the kids.  The breakfast was very lovely. I loved the selection of breads
The B&B is in a very peaceful location and is a great place for a few relaxing days. In the vicinity there are also a national park with walking paths.  Because of the proximity to wetlands and water, there are mosiquitos, but that is natural.

I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to the area near Venlo. 

Just a note: The hot water got really hot really fast (different from my apartment where it takes 5 minutes for the hot water to get to our pipes).
