We had a great time at center parcs Het Meerdal. 

Booking: it is worth comparing across the center parcs  EU, German (.de), French (.fr) and Dutch (.nl) websites. All had different prices. We got a 'pony cottage' cheaper than a standard cottage on the NL site. Of course even with ferries was far cheaper than UK center parcs.
Website description of 'pony cottage' was very unhelpful and we had no idea what we were getting for the pony bit other than a themed cottage, but went for it anyway. It includes 3 days of 'pony' activities per week, 9:15 to 3:30 for kids aged between 3 and 12. Our daughter is only 4 so one day was enough for us. It was no problem to opt out of the other two and given we hadn't paid extra, we were happy with that.
We also took our 3 month old. When I called customer services they were very helpful, all cottages have a cot and highchair. 

Travel: for anyone coming from the UK, we took the ferry from Harwich to Hook - very easy, 2 hour drive on the other side, very quiet on roads on a sunday. 

Accomodation: our cottage was pretty clean and comfortable. We'd been a bit unsure about cooking with the 'microwave crisper' as hadn't used one before and weren't sure what it did. We were able to do everything we would have in a normal oven, although it is small for a full family meal, we had to cook pizzas in shifts. 
There is a normal percolator coffee machine as well as the Dulce Gusto machine advertised. We tried it out but next time would just bring some good ground coffee, especially after seeing all the waste from the Dulce Gusto pods.
If you have small kids I would recommend bringing a shower mat, as it is slippery and our little one fell over. 
There is no food waste recycling which is a shame, pretty standard in residential properties in UK.

Days out: We'd recommend Irrland. Great fun with little ones and really reasonable cost, just a half an hour away, we took a picnic and spent the whole day. Will be even better when the weather is warmer for water slides.
We also had a lovely day trip to Kleve, Kalkar and Xanten.
We only ate in at the park, we walked to Aan de Drift just outside, has fab pancakes!

All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and spoke great English.

Great off peak holiday with baby and preschooler

Lovely family holiday and great fun. The lodges were comfortable and the beds were amazing. Aqua Mundo is also great, with slides and the wild water course. There are a wide range of extra activities to book ranging from bikes to zip lines and boat hire. The staff are kind and helpful too. One bit of advice though, download the app before you go as it seems to not download when you’re here. Lovely place and I would definitely come here again. I would highly recommend this centre parcs.

Amazing place. I would highly recommend it.

Just returned from a 7 day break here.  My daughter (who is 6) really enjoyed our holiday as did we! There’s so much to do both on site and outside the park. In particular the pony riding, farm and aqua mundo were her favourites. The staff are helpful and friendly.  We visited Toverland, the Mind Museum and local pancake house (Aan de drift) which is easy to walk to from the het Meerdal. Would recommend all of these places!
A couple of things: watch out for mosquitoes (I had a few bites, hardly surprising when you’re so close to nature) and I found the mattress too firm (I’m nearly 6 months pregnant so found it hard to get comfortable). We stayed in a premium cottage which has been updated, very nice and clean enough. 
Overall a wonderful place to stay with your family. Our daughter was feeding a lovely little black and white cat, I promised her I’d post a picture in case he/she visits your cottage asking for food!

A great find, close to nature and lots to do!

We have just returned from a fabulous 2 week holiday at Het Meerdal. I found the lack of recent reviews made it difficult to plan so here's mine. 

We sailed from Hull to Rotterdam on the overnight ferry. We took our dog with us and that worked very smoothly. 

It took us 2 hours to get from the port to Het Meerdal and we were welcomed into the park when we arrived. Its slightly challenging with a dog as you've no where to go once you arrive if the weather is bad. We bought some lunch from the shop and sat under the canopy behind the experience farm. 

We were able to enter the house from 4pm and it was superbly clean. We chose the basic house due to taking our pooch and it was lovely. The decor was fresh and the bathroom was lovely. Outside there are new patio sets (not like the plastic ones on the photos). We chose 655 and it was right on the lake and close to the center which was good with our teen. There was a coffee machine (filtered) and an oven (which works as a microwave too) and a dishwasher. We took our air fryer with us too which was a blessing. We took a cheap bbq with us but you could buy these in the shop cheaply. There was also a drying rack which wasn't listed in the description so i took my own. The house has a great cupboard with the vac in etc which will fit all your cases. 

Activities- we booked pretty much every activity going and enjoyed them all. We particularly enjoyed the 2 hrs scuba session. They are great at reception and will change any activities if the time doesn't work or the weather changes (which it often did in August!) There was no need to pre book nothing sold out. 
The pool was fab and so clean. Loads of lockers and changing rooms etc. 

We visited lots of places near by for a wonder and Venlo was our favourite. We also found Horst fab for supermarkets, waffles and the vets (as you need a treatment for them before returning to the UK). 
We also had a day out at Toverland which was fabulous and only 10 mins away. 

We found supermarket shopping very expensive compared to home. The shop on site is ok for emergencies and fresh bread or pastries. Eating out was also expensive.  We didn't eat on site as we wanted to try more local food. 

So, a wonderful place for a family break and total reset. Go prepared for plenty of mosquitoes and very changeable weather. 

A great spot for a family adventure! 

We had a wonderful family holiday at Het Meerdal. We have 4 daughters aged between 5 and 11 and there was so much choice for them, it was perfect for that age range. Location is great.  Zoo Parc is great to visit (best zoo we’ve been too). Local villages have a number of restaurants which are lovely. The Jumbo supermarket is only 15 mins away if you want more choice ( and possibly cheaper) than in CP. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The dome with the wildlife is mesmerising… we could have watched the fish and terrapins for ages. We had a three bedroom cottage which had plenty of space with a well equipped kitchen. The microwave is an oven! 
We would have given 5 stars but unfortunately the rug in our cottage was a bit dog smelly and the cottage had a damp feeling. The floor would be wet and all our clothes and bed sheets would feel damp in the mornings. 
One piece of advice would be to stock up on bug spray. We had lovely hot weather but with it came the mosquitoes and subsequent bites… pharmacy is only 15 mins away though.
All in all a very memorable, happy holiday. Thank you CP.

I made a booking a booking in July 2022 to Centre parc Het Meerdel for a stay in August 2023.

Over teh past 3 months, since November I have rang your number +31 10 498 97 54 every week day and and we have had bsolutely no joy, Alli get is an engaging tone and finally today, it went through after a long old, one of your staff picked up and cut off the line after.

Its absolutely disheartening watching the prices sour on a daily basis and I hvae to absolutely speak to someone on teh phone to cancel or ammend my booking, a booking that was made seamlessly without speaking to anyone.

we are looking to cancel this booking and rebook to Centre Pack Disney Paris instead.

Please can yu guys reach out n someway to know how to cancel this booking or rebook to somewhere else.Show less

WE want to CHANGE  our Booking and You guys have made it practically impossible to do so

We choose Center Parcs as we have a toddler and a young baby and the swimming pool water is normally warm. It’s even on their website that it’s great for babies due to warm swimming pool. This was not the case, the water is cold in all pools, far too cold for a baby! 

In addition there is hardly any activities on a Thursday or Friday for young children, they are only on Saturday and Sunday. On the website it says certain activities are Mon - Sun, this is false. 

We have stayed at a lot of Center Parcs and are disappointed this time. I presume all these changes are to save money.

On the plus side, the play parks are really good.
