Stayed in the large family room.
Friendly staff, in the heart of everything.
Breakfast was superb and delivered to your door.
Will definitely recommend. Only issue the mezzanine beds have steep stairs so be prepared and may be difficult for very young or old.

Lovely location, on the canal

A fabulous quirky hotel. Beautiful room with a canal view. Recently refurbished bathroom. Comfortable huge bed.
Delicious continental breakfast delivered to your room.
They were super helpful, storing our bags and answering our random requests.
We would definitely stay here again.

Quirky with a great view

What an incredible place to stay. Bags of character, fantastic rooms, awesome breakfast, perfect location and lovely people. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to spend time in Utrecht. Nothing was too much trouble.  Stunning building as per the picture!

Amazing place and location

I woke up rested, and had a wonderful night in the family room. Nice and comfortable beds and a verily delicious breakfast.  The staff at the hotel are Kind and helpful!!
Check in and check out went smooth.
I will come back again!

Wonderful stay

I've lived in the Netherlands for 20+ years but this was my first visit to Utrecht. Mrs A had been before in the 80s and 90s.

We chose the hotel on booking.com using the 'bath' filter. It was reasonably priced, an old building in a great location. AH and Jumbo supermarkets were close by, as was the centre of town, but it still felt quiet.

I'd read the reviews but disagree with a few negative comments. With Google maps the entrance is not hard to find, look for number 399A. Also the stairs, by dutch standards, are not steep they are quite palatial.  We didn't experience any noise from fellow guests.

Mrs A declared the bath in our 2nd floor room to be the nicest ever.  No (noisy) jacuzzi pump, just a long deep plain bath - excellent.

Single beds were fine, we just secured one end of them together with 4 large tie wraps and didn't have to mind the gap!

Breakfast delivered to the room was excellent too. Warmed rolls/croissants were a nice touch.

They were able to give us access to our room before the declared 4pm check-in and they are happy to store bags.

Some nice canalside bars close by - we enjoyed 't Oude Pothuys.

Behind the property is the "7 Steegjes" area and the grassed walkway alongside the (Rijnkade) canal.



A good B&B in great location 

We stayed her with our family of four (two adults, one 8 and one 11 year old). We had the family room (room F, 2nd floor). Room F has single large living space with a living room / kitchen and bar and connected bedroom, as well as a stairs to converted loft with two single beds. It also has a small bathroom/toilet.

The pro's:
 - Location is fantastic. It is in central Utrecht, within close range of tons of good restaurants, shops, museums and sight seeing opportunities
 - It's also about a 15min walk to Utrecht central station (which can then get you on fast trains to Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam (all within 30-40min)
 - Building is authentically Dutch, Rooms are clean, spacious, staff are friendly
 - Breakfast in the morning is tailored to your wishes, delivered to your room at the time you want; and while they don't do everything (not sure you can get your eggs a 100 different ways, but we didn't push the limit there), the croissants and bread are fresh and lovely

The small downsides:
 - The bathroom in room F is quite poky. If you are tall, you might struggle a bit. But if you don't spend a lot of time in the bathroom in the morning, this shouldn't bother you
 - The room we stayed in could probably do with a tiny bit of TLC. It does show some wear and tear. But I guess as Covid19 comes to an end, the owners will have more budget again to invest in it. It doesn't impact your stay at all btw
- Some staff are a bit less more 'on the ball' than others and it shows in the attention to breakfast, the cleanliness of the room, etc. Nothing that ruins your day, but you clearly know who is on duty
- Parking is not an issue, and there are good parking garages within 8-10min walk, but it will but you back €25/night. Best is to not come by car at all

Overall it is a fantastic place to stay if you are in Utrecht. It's a residential house in central Utrecht turned into a B&B. Who could ask for more? Only thing to warn for is that if you are less mobile and find steep stairs tricky, this is probably not the place for you. There is no lift and the stairs are Dutch-style steep...

Quite a little gem in the heart of Utrecht

It seemed to live in an 19th century dutch hose. The doors. The steep long stair. The rooms old furniture, pictures, tends... The hotel is situated along the main beautiful Utrecht channel, the Oudergracht, at the east end of the old town. 15 minutes walking from Central Station. Not far from Central Museum. From the windows we could see the apse of a previous church, now transformed in block of apartments. Our two rooms (for three people) were wide, equipped with a little kitchen and a brand bathroom. People were very kind. In the morning they bring us a delicious breakfast, in a wide vessel. I still remember the light of rooms, beautiful also in a cloudy summer day.

The light of old Utrecht

We were travelling through Europe on a university tour with our son. We chose the Hotel Musemkwartier due to its location on a quiet, canal-lined street with a short walk to restaurants & shops.

The room was clean and roomy. We had a European King (two single beds pushed together) and a sofa bed in the living area for our son. The bedroom was spacious with high ceilings and large windows that could be opened for ventilation (didn't have A/C, but even in July Utrecht was cooler and we didn't really need it - they did have fans to move the air around which was perfect).

Their breakfasts are absolutely wonderful. As they don't have a common area, they'll deliver the the breakfast tray to your room each morning at whatever time you request. Fresh squeezed OJ, warm croissants, breads & rolls, Yogurt with granola, hard-boiled eggs, meats & cheeses! More breakfast than the three of us could eat each day but absolutely fresh & wonderful!

We met Maria the first day and she was very warm & welcoming! She was out shopping when we first arrived, but bicycled back to the hotel in a few minutes to show us to our room. The old town is delightful and definitely feels like a 'mini-Amsterdam'.

The street is narrow and there is no parking close to the hotel. So when you stop to drop your luggage, you will likely be blocking through-traffic on the narrow lane for a minute or two while you unload. Expensive overnight parking ($22) at a church lot about 2 blocks away but I'm sure there were less expensive options, we just couldn't immediately find them. 

Other reviewers had noted the step curved stairs to the 2nd floor. I would echo their sentiments that the stairs will not be suitable for folks with limited mobility.

A perfectly charming Bed & Breakfast, with a very nice, welcoming staff and a superb breakfast. As travellers, we couldn't ask for much more! Highly recommend this B&B!

Quaint, picturesque B&B in the old town - central to everything!

Had a wonder four nights here in early February. 

Service was excellent, room comfortable, generous breakfast. 

Canal-side room with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. 

Distinctive decor. Walking distance from everywhere in Utrecht.

Excellent part of town with some very good restaurants in close proximity. Loved it.

I stayed 3 nights, the room is clean, beautifully furnished and with an excellent bathroom. Very comfortable and quiet.
I had a big and tasty breakfast by the window, with nice sun and view of the canal.
