The hotel is i a great spot however I believe rooms recently refurbished- and our room was style over substance - first no drawers only open shelving and one with door that we used for underwear! Open wardrobe with awkward too high hangars - lighting was very poor and only two sockets one near mirror needed unplug lamp to use also no bin in be room just in bathroom - small step up
Into bathroom felt like trip
Hazard - no storage in bathroom just edge of sink so stuff kept falling in sink - gap under sink need storage and maybe a chair although that means mirror too high - on plus side bed really comfortable nice bedding view beautiful but we paid extra for that breakfast good and general ambiance in hotel very nice - hope this is useful feedback - just need a a few tweaks

This is a hotel which has rooms of three star quality,  as there should be, but the mentality of a hostel! 

It is true that the inclusions of the room don't mention a tea coffee kettle, but at the price level of nearly USD 200/ night, this is not something one would expect to check while booking!  But this hotel does not offer that basic convenience. They want you to go down to the restaurant and buy it, so you must change before you can have a morning coffee! Breakfast is pretty basic too, with not even a toaster to warm up your bread. 

The bathroom amenities are the cheapest quality too and most limited. No cream. No conditioner. No hand tissue. The weather gets quite warm in the summer but there is no cooling provision in the rooms, whereas the bedding provided is the same as the winter. One cannot open the window because of street noise. Check out is 11am and this is the FIRST time ever, a hotel refused to extend it even by 20min!! For no real reason, except attitude. Bearing in mind the price point, it was a very unpleasant experience. 

The access to the hotel by car is confusing and when we arrived, we called the hotel for the access and we were told that it mentions on their website that there is no car access, which is, however, not mentioned on booking.com. So we walked with our luggage for almost half a kilometer to reach the hotel.

Hotel Old Dutch offered a comfortable way to finish our week in the Netherlands before returning to the airport.   The hotel overlooks the main drag adjacent to the marina and can be noisy at night until things quiet down.  Upper floor rooms will have a ceiling that has some funky configurations and beams to whack your head on; stay below the 3rd floor.  The breakfast was satisfying.  There are many shops within a short walk, including a place to rent bicycles (which we did.)

The beds were comfortable and, once the partying on the street subsided, the night was quiet.  We hotel is a short walk from the bus stop, providing a convenient way to get there from Amsterdam Central.

We'd come back. 

Charming Hotel Overlooking the Marina

Typical hotel in the heart of Volendam with sea view. Spacious and cozy rooms, bathroom and mattresses that can be improved. Fast and efficient service. Recommended for a night in a charming location. Good quality price ratio.

A charming hotel in a unique location

We had taken a small room overlooking the harbour. The room is a little old but very functional. The bed is very soft. The morning view of the harbour is wonderful. However, we had not thought that there would be so much noise around three or four o'clock in the morning, certainly because of the departure of the fishermen. The morning breakfast was very cozy! The hotel is in an ideal situation. Directly on the harbour, it is very nice to take a walk. There is free parking at 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Very convenient.

Very good location, as there are many shopping opportunities and also various culinary specialties, but the room is well cleaned but the doors are noisy because they automatically close. kurios also that strange beep when opening/closing. I had another one underneath a plug box with cable GEFFERENCE for children or animals! And in the bathroom the ceiling with water stains. If you opened a window, there must have been someone smoking in secret, at least there was a cigarette in there, despite the fact that there was a non-smoking zipper. Unfortunately the elevator was DEFECT, you could take all the pieces out of the stairs.

It's a good price, but...

It's impossible to get there by car, very poorly indicated. 45 minutes to find! The entrance from the parking lot is in a gloomy hangar. For a 3-star hotel. The staff is totally antipathetic and does not listen. Breakfast is a disaster, everything is low quality and tasteless. There is no choice. The strong point is the rooms: beautiful view, spacious, bright, clean and functional.

We had a drink on the terrace. Normal price in front of the harbor. Covered terrace. It was raining.

Volendam is an old and beautiful fishing village just half an hour from Amsterdam, we come here to spend the weekend, so we park our car in the parking lot and we radiate from the hotel on foot (or by bike).

Good room with great views. Excellent breakfast. Lots of places to choose from close by for drinks or food. Boat trip to Marken departs short walk from hotel. Plenty of clog, cheese and Tulip shops also close by.
