It's close to the centre of the town..nice hotel ..everything is cleaned with tv in the room..coffea and tea too.. but keep attention inside at the hotel: you could lose ...the number of rooms are not easy to find it.. the toilette in the room is very large like the room.. the price is on the media ..

Nice but..

We stayed here a year ago to explore the North of the country. A good way to do it: turn empty flats of a retirement home into hotel accommodation. It's quite special as you have your own little flat with separate bedroom, kitchen, lounge & bathroom. It was not really luxurious but clean & comfortable which is important to us. The location is handy, when having your own transport (close to the highway); don't know about public transport though. We had some meals in the restaurant which were good.

Hotel Holland Inn

This hotel is in the countryside in the town of Wolvega. Not much to see or do around. I was only there for 2 nights visiting a friend who works nearby. The hotel is actually semi-converted  flats that were originally built for senior citizens. It is now a blend of hotel rooms and private flats for the elderly. You will see walkers parked outside some flats and rooms come with nurse call buttons and all LoL. The rooms are actually small apartments but the initial excitement of the additional space quickly dimmed  with a closer look. There is a small kitchen with plenty of cabinets and a 2 burner electric range, however, there are no pots and pans or cooking utensils, no microwave and no fridge, making the kitchen completely non-functional and wasted space. The unit itself is scarcely and plainly decorated but clean and has the essentials. The flat screen TV in the living room has a very small screen. No TV in the bedroom. In the bathroom, water pressure was good and shower was hot. The overall feel of the place is that of an old and tired inn but clean and with friendly staff. They have an onsite restaurant that serves good food but it is not cheap. Breakfast was excellent and a good value at €10 per person. We originally booked a room for 2 with breakfast included for €145, but ended up spending €300 total at check-out for food and drinks so "collateral damage" can be significant, especially if you are on a budget. There is free WiFi in the lobby (slow at times) but you have to pay €15 for a day pass if you want internet access in your room.
Most of the hotel guests are elderly people. I only saw a couple of guys in there 20-30s, the rest seemed to be well into their late 60s, 70s or older. So, if a nursing home atmosphere far from everything and with limited choices is your thing then this place is for you, otherwise skip it and look for a more centrally located and modern hotel with a younger vibe.

Far, plain, old and tired.

We stayed in this hotel some weeks ago. The rooms are enormous. It is in fact the unused part of a retirement home and you therefore get a sitting room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette with each twinroom booking. The furniture is basic and not very imaginative although firm and functional. The bathroom is fairly grim, tiles like an abattoir but clean The kitchen has nothing in it, not even a spoon. However if you want to stay in the area you could buy some cheap plastic stuff. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is fine. It is a very cheap place to stay and lots of space but certainly not romantic.
