Haere rā Motuoapa Bay Holiday Park. Another awesome place to stay, great location (right on lakeside, a few minutes drive to Turangi, great facilities (good kitchen, laundry and bathroom facilities), and awesome managers (Gerry & Pauline). 

I had the most relaxing time, 8 days  of kayaking, walks and just soaking up the sun and interacting with the wild life (ducks, seagulls, pukekos).

I would definitely and have no hesitation in recommending this holiday park for you to stay in.

Lakefront at Motuoapa Bay Holiday Park 

Highly recommend. Great value for money for the standard cabin. Very clean and comfortable cabin. 
Loved the character of the park and atmosphere. Wonderful service from the friendly staff. Also enjoy the music in the bathroom.

Highly recommend

This park is lakeside, and perfect for a quiet getaway.   We stayed 3 nights while getting to know "Nola" our Motorhome.  Lake front sites are cool, but we got breezy weather so asked to move further back after one night.  It was not a problem.   The facilities are dated and need upgrading but are scrupulously clean, and I am fussy.  For us a wonderful  stay.  The hosts were fantastic.

Perfectly Quiet Camp Lakeside

Fabulous place to stay. We were in Trout House so had the most amazing view of the lake.  The camp was so tranquil and peaceful. Our bed was very comfortable and the view from the kitchen bench was just magic. It was lovely sitting on the deck in the afternoon sun. A wonderful place to stay to recharge. The double glazing made for a very quiet night. All facilities were lovely and clean. We will be back. 

Recharge 

This is a lovely, well run campground right on the edge of Lake Taupo. We stayed in the retro Kombi van. They have tea, coffee making facilities, heater, double bed, TV, bedside tables and a deck with table and chairs. Plenty of room for a couple. The camp itself is well equipped with a kitchen, laundry, showers and toilets and a playground for the children. There is also a small shop at the office with ice-cream etc  for sale. The managers are very friendly, helpful people. The only negative is the hot water in the communal areas is scalding hot, perhaps a little dangerous. 

Kiwiana at its best!! 

My partner and I stayed at one of the Kombi Vans for a night (the orange one). The van was converted beautifully in a quaint and well-thought of way. It had a double bed, two bed side tables, a TV, kettle, heater, an electric blanket and coffee/tea. Each Kombi has a deck by the front door with a table and a couple of chairs. 
Since we stayed during September, it was 70NZD.
The kitchen and bathroom are shared facilities and were in very good condition, clean and well equipped.
The park is situated just by the lake and wharf and great for an evening stroll.
Turangi is a five minute drive away with petrol stations and a supermarket (new world). So the location couldn't be more ideal. 
Would definitely recommend this place if you're passing through the area.


Creative little space, Great location & price. 

Had a great overnight stay at the Motuoapa Bay holiday camp. The camo has a wide variety of accomodation to suit all types and budgets. Opted for a combi in the end. It was fun, clean and perfect for a night. Heater kept it nice and warm too. The shared facilities are very clean and tidy. And the views over the lake great on a moody August morning. Highly recommended if you’re passing through. 

Clean and friendly camping ground

If you are needing a place to stay near Turangi or Taupo then I would recommend the Motuoapa Bay Holiday Park. It is peaceful and right by the Motuoapa Bay Marina. I stayed in a cabin shaped like a VW campervan, but it is actually bigger than it looks and very comfortable. The staff are friendly and facilities are basic but adequate.

For dinner you can cook in the shared kitchen, or go to Turangi or the Challenge service station - which has good takeaways.

Great Holiday Park near Taupo

There was a muck up with our booking but the lovely owner more than made up for it! We only passed through for 1 night but it was a very pretty and peaceful spot. Everything was clean and the camp shower had amazing water pressure! Happily revisit - thank you!

Very Peaceful Spot

Had a Fantastic time here in our Tent, Grat spot right in front of the Lake, Cooler at nights but was late February, Jay and Deanna are super friendly and helpful, will be going back, Facilities really clean, Shower not the greates pressure but clean and adequate
