It was a mistake booking this hostel, it is terrible. If you get a room with a window, it only opens a crack, there are no windows in the kitchen/dining area, so it’s hot and stuffy. There aren’t any lockers or space for your things, the shower was gross and the other guests weren’t all that great either. There are too many laminated signs about rules. I didn’t feel safe leaving my stuff, so I left after one night, and getting my refund done correctly was also a nightmare, although they were reasonable in issuing it in the first place.

Probably the worst hostel in the world

I'll admit this place was cheap and I booked it on a discounted rate. Not the end of the world but if I had of had a look at the place first I would have forked out a few extra bucks to stay somewhere else. A plus note the bed linen is clean and staff are helpful

You get what you paid for

honestly I’m fearing for my health and my lungs right now. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!! I regret going cheap, so much mould NO AIR !! NO VENTILATION!!NO WINDOWS!! DIRTY SHEETS!! SOS there are way better hostels in Auckland, it will ruin your trip! 

it’s cheap for a reason 

Room with no window and NO ventilation. Mould on the ceiling and the floor. Awful bed, feel more like a too soft sofa. No furnitures to put your personal belongings on. Very old bathroom and kitchen. Avoid this hostel if you can!

One of the worst hostel

Terrible hostel. Only thing halfway decent was that staff was polite the whole time. Besides that the hostel is dirty, smelly, and does not even provide the free dinner with a nights stay like is stated in three different locations on their website. When we checked in, pest control services were being done on the the room directly adjacent to ours. Tons of hairs in bathroom and all over our bedding. Very bad all around.

False advertising

We were looking for somewhere to stay cheaply over night and found this place for under $40 for a private room. We weren't expecting much we weren't particularly disappointed. Room was clean and spacious. Shared bathroom was big and clean enough too. Lady on reception was friendly and wifi was very good. Couldn't fault for an overnight stop at the price we paid.

Depends what you pay

This hostel is perfect if your seriously low on cash and need somewhere cheap to stay. We came to Auckland for a concert and thought this would be perfect as it was close to spark arena and super cheap. We definitely should of paid extra for a nicer hotel. The hostel staff itself were okay, didn't have issues with them but the hostel itself was super run down. Leaks in the stairwell, weird smells throughout the hostel, bathrooms need a serious clean, and so do the common areas. Only good thing was the sheets were clean (from what I could tell). We got a women's 4 share bedroom dorm, was super small. Luckily it had a window so we could air the place out from the weird smells. Only problem with the window is your right above a strip club and the hostel bar so at night it was very loud. Don't reccomend this hostel unless your desperate 


You can do better

I didn't stay at the hostel, but I did stop by and drink one of their $5.00 beers at their bar.  The bar area is tolerable, perhaps a bit seedy, but they do have outside seating too.  There are a variety of hostels in this area,

The bathrooms (in particular the showers) were  very run-down and partially mouldy. They were the worst hostel bathrooms I experienced in my 3 months stay in New Zealand. In most showers there was not even a hook to hang your stuff while showering. And lay it on the floor was NOT an option.  

Positive:
The room was acceptable for the price. 
And it had air conditioning!!
