My wife and I stayed in Cambridge for a night to be closer to the Hobbit Movie Set the next day. We were very pleased with Grasslands and would highly recommend it.
Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The shower is equipped with a hand-held nozzle and has plenty of water pressure. The king-sized bed is comfortable. Our room would have absolutely perfect for stargazing had it not been rainy and cloudy outside. Our hosts, Brendon and Jalena could not have been more hospitable and courteous. Breakfast was delicious and our hosts joined us in very pleasant conversation. Wonderful!

Beautiful Farm and a Wonderful Stay in Cambridge

We stayed at Grasslands for one night. It was our first B&B experience so not sure what to expect. We were meet at the gate by Brendan, who took us through to our room which was nice and spacious, with our own private en suite.  The room was 
meticulously clean, fully equipped with tea/coffee (with biscuits) making facilities, huge TV and heat pump. The  hosts even delivered special gluten free biscuits to accommodate a gluten intolerance. The B&B is set up so that everyone has their own private access to their room, and there is a huge communal lounge if extra space was required - with  games, magazines, books, maps etc... that leads outs to a swimming pool and spa.
After a peaceful quiet night, the morning breakfast was just superb! An array of cereals, yogurts, fruit, pastries, meats, cheeses, toast and spread - all sourced locally so all fresh and delicious. Again, they catered for special dietary needs.
Brendan and Jalena were fantastic hosts and no doubt we will visit them again when we are in the area.

Well Worth a Visit

We spent 4 nights in this well.appointed single.storey house equipped with a small gym and a large sitting area.We found our room small, cramped and with very  limited storage space.

Unfortunately one day the electronics went awry and we were woken up at 3.30am with Alexa and alarms sounding at top volume.,....a rather unwelcome wake.up call!

A nicely.appointed location but expensive in relation to service provided.

Expensive b&b in an attractive location

Just spent two nights at this accommodation.  Brendan and Jalena are great hosts and their property is very well appointed.  Whether you are a single couple like us or up to three couples this is the place for a great stay.  If you are so inclined there is a large pool and spa, while if the weather is less clement, there is a large communal guest lounge and a well equipped gymnasium.  The breakfast provided is well above average with a distinct continental feel (if you are from Germany you will feel right at home).

Our room had a very comfortable bed, and we had two excellent nights sleep.

Excellent B&B

We stayed at Grasslands for 3 nights - and I would've been happy to stay longer, We enjoyed a lovely room with outdoor access to  a lovely patio and pool area (and made use of the pool everyday!). There is also a residents lounge and gym area. Everything was very clean and well appointed.
Our hosts provided a lovely daily breakfast as well as being warm, friendly and inviting. 
Grasslands is less than a ten minute drive to the centre of Cambridge (but you do need a car).
Would we stay again ? YES !

Wonderful in every way

We were looking for a place in between the Waitomo Caves and the Auckland airport to split up a day of driving and found this gem! What can I say, the place was immaculate! The hosts were warm and welcoming when we arrived in the evening and showed us to our room, and showed us the special features of our room including the "Alexa", lighting controls, and the sliding doors that led out onto the patio/pool area. Additionally, there is a rec room/TV room with tons of movies and games and comfy couches to hang out in. We were arriving around dinner time and they offered up some local restaurant favorites in town which were delicious! The bed was extremely soft and comfortable, I didn't want to get up the next morning! They served a large choice of breakfast items, breads, pastries, and juices (Yum!) and had a lovely conversation before heading on our way. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here!!!

Quite B&B with spacious rooms

Fantastic place to stay. The hosts are really friendly and very helpful. The rooms were new and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed watching a film on a huge Flatscreen TV. Great continental breakfast. Location quiet.

Grasslands B & B is on a semi-rural property just outside of Cambridge. Close enough to town for easy access to restaurants and far enough out to feel you are in the beautiful countryside. The rooms are lovely - spacious, comfortable and very well set up. Electronic gizmos everywhere for the tech types, and good quality amenities. The owners are delightful - very friendly and provided a great continental breakfast. Highly recommended!

Really great place and great people

The hosts have been in different countries for quite a while and really enjoy to share their oversea experiences ! The room is so comfort and sleep well at night , guest lounge, gym , spa & pool environment....................make me feel like in a resort ! The breakfast is sufficient and healthy. For sure I will go and stay for next time .
