We were in a large room with ensuite - very comfortable.  Most rooms were much smaller and many did not have an ensuite.  The upstairs kitchen was adequate - oven did not work but microwave did. The breakfasts were fairly basic - choice of cereals, milk and fruit.  Tea and coffee plentiful.  Large fridge.  
We hired the place out as a group.  I would be happy to do this again.

A great place for a group of 20 tramping friends.

Kevin is friendly and helpful, leaves clear instructions which make everything easy. All you need is supplied, including breakfast, hot drinks. Cleanest linen which smells lovely, bathroom spotless, and use of a beautiful sunny kitchen. Plenty of blankets including electric, and heating. Quaint old house with heaps of character. Treat yourself next time you pass through Cambridge and spend the night. Linda from South Africa


Simply fabulous stay, home away from home

Kevin is always super helpful when our large group of rowers has stayed at Penmarric House - which has been many times over the last two years.  The house is large enough for everyone, has loads of bathrooms and facilities so we do not feel we are on top of each other.  Everything is always very clean, the beds are great, it has loads of parking and is close to town so everyone can go for a wander if they want.

Many thanks to a wonderful host who organised a room for us on about 2 hours notice.
Price, excellent and will make many forego much more expensive places when they see what comes with an evening at Penmarric.
Bed, comfortable, room, big enough for 2 and all thier gear.
Faciltiies, clean, functional and beautifully appointed.
All amenities, kitchen, dining room, lounge and  breakfast area all spotless and filled with warm and inviting furntiure and accessories.
Breakfast assortment was good and all was fresh, a delight to partake of.
Overall, for our stay it's a five for a five star establishjment and for our hosts efforts to make our stay as evenless as possible.

Perfect

Whole building was reconstructed recently, rooms were clean, bathroom was shared for several rooms, wifi connection was fast. Breakfast is included, but you need to prepare it yourself from limited set of provided eatables.

Good accomodation

This was the perfect stop on our road trip of the North Island. We were a last minute booking (calling at 5pm the night of), and the host was incredbly accomodating! We were greeted at the door with a smile and a tour of the place. The building is 100 years old, and the current owners have just opened it as a B&B as of October 2019. As such, the fursnishings are modern and comfortable, yet minimalistic. The common spaces were clean and felt like home, with a gorgeous view out of the kitchen, Don't let the lack of reviews act as a deterrant. We would've stayed more than the one night if we could!

Great Hospitality and Accomodation!!

A lovely, homely place. Beautifully clean with super little touches such as the electric blanket to take off the chill. Our breakfast was delicious after a great nights sleep. The owners are very hospitable and welcoming. The accommodation is well located for the 1b road up to Auckland too. Well recommended.

Dat son of yours is talented!

Nice Accommodation, Room spacious and clean. Hosts were obliging and friendly (picked and dropped us off the next day at the bus stop). Breakfast was good with plenty of variety. Was close to main shopping area, very short walk. Would recommend to others.

Nice Accommodation

Gracious hosts and nice accommodation in a central location.  Good breakfast choices.  We had the use of a BBQ so did not have to eat out every night.  Even got to play fetch with the resident dog, Boy.  Cambridge has a lovely small town feel and we were close to Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves.

Felt just like home

A lovely central location.  Wonderful and welcoming hosts. I am quite a frequent visitor to Cambridge and am always on the lookout for that comfortable and well run "home from home". I have certainly found a place that ticked all the boxes for me. I know I will be a frequent return guest. I have just realised I forgot to sign the  in-house visitors book, but that can be easily rectified on my next stay.
