The first thing I thought when I saw the building was: what are we getting into now?! Through the windows I can see old matresses with sixty motives on them, broken blinds everywhere. Than there is a paper stuck to one of the doors that says: I am in the other house. So we walk to the other house, than we find another paper that says: The front door is on the other side". Than we walk around the house to find a locked fencedoor. So we walk back and around the house on the inside of this fence. Finally we find a guy outside who happens to work there. Because honestly I don't know how long we would still have been looking for the front door or the reception.. And there were a few guests that arrived after us that had the same problem. How hard is it to make proper signs so you know where to check in?

On the inside the hostel is much better, freshly painted and the bedrooms and living room are clean. There is a nice tv in the living room and good couches. You do have to share the space with a makeshift office that has been put in and the linnen cupboard. 

The kitchen is a bit dirty, dishes keep hanging around in the dryracks and are not being put back by staff. The floor is sticky and the fridges smell like the trashcan. The toilet on our floor is a bit of an issue as well because the same space also houses the washing machine and the shower. And no, there are no other toilets or showers on this floor.

Overall not a bad place to stay, it is the cheapest hostel in walking distance of the city centre. Rooms are clean, there is free wifi (not great quality, but with a bit of patience you can manage), staff is very friendly and helpfull, noise is generally not too bad except for the occasional roommate that watches a movie till very very late.

This hostel could be so much better though.
