We stayed for one night, room and ensuite is nice, even though the bed is bit low. Room was warm enough with the heater on.
In the morning we went to the market (told the host that we are coming back) and when we came back about hour later, all our stuff were gone. It was shortly after 10am, so not even close to check out time at 11am. When I came to the front door to ask what happened I saw by bag full of rubbish. I asked where my stuff is and the host started to collect all my stuff around the house. Some of it was already in her purse!!! My Kindle was on their book shelf and the tea in pantry. Unbelievable! She said she thought we're not coming back, but how unprofessional it is not even wait to check out time and start taking and chucking someone's stuff! And top of it she didn't even apologize and left us standing on the street. Worst experience I've had with accommodation so far. Happy I didn't leave my wallet.

Very bad experience

This guest house is located in a quiet subdivision.  My room was quiet and well-appointed.  I had just flown in from the USA and I needed a place to recover from jet lag.  This guest house was quiet with a good bed.  I had great night of sleep.  One needs access to a car to use this guest house.  Everything in the room worked well including the internet.  If I return to Christchurch I will probably stay here again.

Good Clean and Economical

Initially I was concerned when it seemed as though we had a room in a person's house. I was pleasantly surprised when a kind lady greeted us at the door & showed us to the back of the house which had 3 guest rooms that were separated from the main house by a door. It definitely felt like we were away from the rest of home. Our room was very very comfortable, had a fantastic sleep. The bed was very comfortable, the TV had plenty of TV channels including a movie channel. The bathroom was fine, the wifi was good & the room had a microwave, toaster & tea & coffee facilities. Would highly recommend! Especially for only $90 & it is close to everything.

arranged late arrival at 11.00pm. owner waited until we arrived and even put heater on in bedroom. obviously takes pride in their business and are prepared to go the extra distance to help. room was clean and tidy

This room was one of several we stayed in during our long road trip around the South Island and was one of the best for comfort and value. The room we had was well decorated and maintained. Small kitchen area and the bathroom sink was very small for washing any plates etc but still a good experience, Proprietor was helpful and welcoming
Although outside the city a short and frequent bus ride took us into Christchurch
