We'd actually booked the Southern Comfort Motel but they obviously work together. We arrived quite early, having not long left the airport but, although there was no ready room in the booked accommodation, there was at the Tudor Court so we were able to stay for the whole of our first day. 
The motel room was upstairs and had separate lounge, bedroom and bathroom. There were good kitchen facilities and the location, near Hagley Park, made it an easy walk into the city. It was a fine base for our two days in Christchurch.

Comfortable and convenient

I visited this hotel in the early of April. The hotel charges me NZD 50 for cleaning fees without any notice to me in advance. I emailed to the hotel and it refused to refund the charges for me. In the first place, I used the kitchen very properly, the only problem is the circulation system was suck so the room will be full of smell after cooking. But that is the problem with the hotel but not mine. If the hotel cares about it much, it better to remove the cooking facilities. The most upset thing was they charged you without any notice and refuse to discuss to have a win-win situation. This is my first time to write a bad comment for a hotel, which is very exceptional. I hope all of the others can be aware of that. To be frank, you can find many good choices nearby. 

酒店聲稱住客使用廚房不乾淨就會不用通知就在信用卡扣款。問題是我沒有弄髒，主要是他們自己的抽氣系統有問題，建議不要入住。

Bad Experience

We spent 3 nights at Tudor court while visiting Christchurch. It was a terrific place to stay - very clean, warm and very convenient to walk into the city.  Some great restaurants for dinner and breakfast around the corner. Thank you John for the warm hospitality - we will definitely be back. 


A great place to stay

Spent 2 excellent nights at the Tudor Court motel. Can’t fault it - ticked all the boxes & more. Clean, tidy, modern. Owner was helpful & knowledgable, answering any queries we had - even lent us 2 deckchairs to take to the cricket at Hagley Oval! 1 minor issue was that our room was next to the main Beasley Avenue so a little bit noisy. Overall, ideal if you want a low cost room near the city centre.

Excellent motel

Had 5 nights at this little gem, it was great, the service from John was wonderful always willing to help, rooms were spacious and very clean, 10 min walk to city center, restaurants and shopping , about 20 min drive from the airport, everything you could ask for! Cannot wait to return.
