This was our first stop in New Zealand and wow did Fay and Lindsey set the bar very high for the rest of the 5 week trip. Beautifully decorated rooms and accommodation with great and plentiful breakfasts. We stayed here 3 nights to see Christchurch and rest up after flying in. The hosts gave great advice on what to see as its difficult to see it all. They are rebuilding the city very successfully after the Earthquake seven years ago. The Quake Museum is a must to understand the devastation and rebuilding required. Tram dinner was superb and much fun. The location is easy to find and a 10 minute drive from town also easy for the airport. It’s a lovely city and we also explored Akaroa one day which was beautiful and spectacular countryside. A great stay and highly recommended for travellers. 

Excellent Guest House with great location and hosts 

Fay and Lindsay are delightful hosts!  They are so attentive and helpful. Their home is beautiful, peaceful and inviting. During our stay, Fay and Lindsay made certain to let us know that a bridge had washed out due to unusually heavy rain. By doing so, they saved us from a very unpleasant surprise and potentially having to rebook our entire trip!  This is just one example of the care they provide to their guests. We highly recommend staying at Finlay Banks B & B!

I had the pleasure of having dinner here on a tour. The food was fantastic better than any restaurant food. The property is beautiful and very welcoming. The hosts are great and make you feel at home.

Great Food

Fay & Lindsay are superb hosts and we loved staying at Finley Banks.  They have a beautiful home with inviting lounge areas, a perfect bedroom and en-suite bath, and an augmented “continental” breakfast to die for.  Home baked goodies, including a fantastic lemon curd.  Breakfast was beautifully arranged, and I loved that we all ate together with Fay and Lindsay.  Lindsay gave us great advise for the rest of our trip.  We only wish we could have stayed longer! 

A Very Special B & B

Fay and Lindsay are the consummate hosts!  They could not have been more caring or helpful.  Their home is beautiful, comfortable and a pleasure to be in.  Fay went out of her way to provide vegan and GF food for us and it was clear she was happy to do so. The breakfast was amazing - so much variety and superb taste!!  The conversation with Fay and Lindsay at breakfast was fun and fascinating. Lindsay provided us great tips as we continued our travel and we have followed some already to our delight.

Fabulous! Best B&B experience ever!

My last three days i spended in Christchurch. I visited 15 B&B’s during my trip in NZ. This was so far the best. The bed - the house - breakfast ( jammie the home made granola) and not to forget the most friendly hosts. I felt like home and enjoyed every minute of my stay with them.  Thank you and if you go to Christchurch stay with them - the perfect combination of everything you need!
