An unusual, rustic but charming place, with a lovely BBQ area under the jungly foliage. We stayed in the Potter's She'd, which is a bit more contemporary than the other cabins. Hugh is a great host who is full of local knowledge. Follow his recommendations!

Rustic but charming and comfortable

We had a wonderful two night stay at Hush. We stayed in the Potters Studio which overlooks a wonderful garden. The garden is a haven for birds. You can use the cooking facilities in the nearby kitchen and then sit outside surrounded by lush vegetation. Hugh the owner is very helpful. Hush is across the road from the Driving Creek Railway, a must visit. 

Being washed by nature

Cabins are set in the bush and are very comfortable.   However, you can get bitten by mosquitoes and they are especially active at night.   Rooms would benefit if the one open window could have a mosquito mesh over it.   Otherwise a great stay in a quiet location.

Quiet and cosy in the bush!

We spent a night at Hush and can’t fault it. The grounds are just gorgeous filled with native plants, wooden walkways and was a lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink.  The rooms are all very private and ours was clean and pvery comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower was a real bonus! I fell asleep listening to birdsong including a morepork and some bell birds. Hugh was a great host. I’d highly recommend and hope we will be back again soon.

Absolutely gorgeous!

What a  find ! Bush like setting filled with beautiful native trees and bird life abounding. Just felt at peace, in a magic part of New Zealand. Host was super friendly and obliging. Close proximity to Coromandel village to drive to make the most of bars and cafes.

Tranquil Bush Setting

The cabins here are very  comfortable and hidden amongst the trees, so it feels like you have the place to yourself. Each cabin has a boardwalk leading to a central communal area. I really loved the design of the place and the cabins were just lovely. Our bathroom was very spacious and clean, and we (myself and two teenage sons) had a comfortable night. The next morning we cooked ourselves breakfast in the very well equipped kitchen area, while the birds sang in the trees around us. Just lovely.

Beautiful choice!

My visit there was as smooth as silk, hassle-free, the staff were friendly, helpful and highly professional.  My room was perfect and oh so nice.  The amenities couldn't be faulted - even though there was no bath or SKY - oh well, the shower was great.  I can't fault it and it helped to make my stay in the Coromandel really special.  The surroundings were beautiful (considering I've lived next to native bush myself for nearly 20 years) and also the prices were reasonable.

The Hosts are great and were super helpful ensuring we had a great few days in the coromandel

Relaxing location

Very comfortable stay and especially convenient for Driving Creek Railway as well as short drive into Coromandel Town. Peaceful grounds for a good night's sleep.
Hosts were extremely accommodating and helpful when we had a minor car problem. Would definitely stay again in the future

Great place to stay

We stayed at Hush for four nights. We intended on two, but we fell in love with Coromandel Town and decided to do the Costal Walk (highly recommended!).

Hush was a lovely place to extend our stay. The accommodation was great, we stayed in the Potter's Studio. 

The gardens are great and filled with local bird wildlife. 

We saw pukeko's, tui, keruru, but the highlight were the Kaka parrots. They were really happy for us to get close and watch them eat, though they do love stripping bark which can be a problem...

Highly recommended!
