Buffalo Lodge is beautiful accommodation with spectacular views. There is a cosy library to enjoy a drink, a comfortable lounge area and a large deck with wonderful views. We were very happy with our room and the delicious breakfasts. Abby and Eli are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble as they are keen to please guests and make them feel at home. Thank you Abby and Eli for making our visit such a memorable one.

Tranquil Buffalo Lodge with stunning views

Two words: immaculate vibes. The photos online do not do this place justice! When we arrived, we were greeted right as we were rolling our bags up to the house, introduced to the owners (who are lovely by the way), and given a tour. I felt so welcomed. It is beautifully decorated and feels cozy like you're staying at a good friend's house (a friend with a big house, really nice guest rooms, and has impeccable taste). I really enjoyed eating in the spacious dining area, lounging in the living room area, and making myself a cup of tea in the kitchen. There's even an adorable little library upstairs. The view is unbeatable during the day, and at night, you can see the stars and listen out for the kiwis. I enjoyed how intimate this place is and how friendly the atmosphere is. If you're the type of traveler who likes to socialize with fellow travelers where you are staying, this is a great place for you. If you prefer the conventional hotel experience, then this may not be the place for you, but you'd be missing out! I can't wait to come back.

Two words: immaculate vibes

Buffalo Lodge has a beautiful location peacefully nestled in the tree-tops above Coromandel Town.  The rooms are bright, airy and sparklng clean, and each has a great view overlooking McGregor Bay and beyand (sunset from the deck is outstanding!).  The dining and sitting areas are the perfect places to relax with a meal, wine or a book and unwind after a day of touring.  The kitchen is well appointed for cooking and the breakfasts are a tasty way to start the day.    We were encouraged to stroll the lush grounds and were lucky enough to see some glow worms at night!  Best of all is the way that hosts, Abby and Eli, made us feel just like we belong.  Buffalo Lodge is enchanting.

Great views, quite and very comfortable

Buffalo Lodge was our most memorable stay in New Zealand during our honeymoon. It's a quiet, beautiful place that offers a great view over the forest and the coast of Coromandel.

The Lodge itself is very comfortable and full of light, with a nice open space, a well stocked kitchen and even a little library on the top floor.

The host was very kind and even prepared a homemade breakfast for us. They provided a booklet full of information about Coromandel with lots of useful suggestions about activities and places to visit.

Our room was clean, tidy and had a nice little balcony to enjoy the view.

We loved our stay and can't wait to come back one day!

Wonderful cabin overlooking Coromandel

Our stay at the Buffalo Lodge was absolutely lovely. Abby was wonderful and made us feel so welcome. The view was stunning and the lodge was super cute. I loved relaxing with some wine in the library and then finishing the evening with star gazing. The room was very comfortable with an incredible view of the bay and surrounding islands. Absolutely recommend for a relaxing getaway! 

Relaxing Stay at Buffalo Lodge

What a beautiful, comfortable location and such friendly hosts. The facilities were marvellous, making our stay exceptional. On top of that, it was superb value for money. We can't recommend it highly enough!

A truly exceptional stay in Coromandel

This is 'the' destination in Coromandel.
Abby and Eli are such genial hosts in their rustic hillside lodge set in lush forest above the town.
Customer comfort care is Abby's speciality and we enjoyed so much celebrating my wife's and daughter's birthdays on consecutive days in their lodge.
The delightful breakfast is totally centred on local natural products.
The views from the gust rooms out across the bay are amazing as is the bird song!!!

The jewel of Coromandel

This place is simply amazing. The view from the terrace is breath taking, the rooms are very cozy and breakfast comes with croissants fresh from the oven and self made fruit compote. 

Abby has a really great eye for detail: the books in the library are a chosen with great care, there are puzzles and even crayons and a drawing pad in case you want to capture one of the beautiful sunsets. Small things are thought of as well - there are for example towels ready to dry of the terrace furniture after the rain.

 It is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and Abby made me feel at home right away!

Amazing view and cozy rooms

Abby is such a wonderful person AND host, ofcause. Everything is prepared and done with so much love - you can see and feel it in every detail. Even when the description and pictures are already great - in real live it is even way better - unbelievable. I felt very welcome and home at once and Abby took also care of a very special breakfast for me (vegan) - without even asking for it! We also had a good chat upfront and during my very (to) short stay. I hope I can be there some day and enjoy everything for a longer time.
