Stayed here for a night during a visit down from Queenstown with the mrs. The lady, who’s name has escaped me, was very accommodating and the room was fantastic. Not too far from the town centre and st clairs beach. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely wee gem

Apart from having road works making access difficult when we were there earlier in the year, it was a very nice place to stay. Clean and tidy, and comfortable. Access to the venue we required was good, and it was a quick trip into the city itself.

A nice place to stay

I stayed in the villa “bed-sit” which had a large bed, small sofa, coffee table, fridge and kettle. It was clean and comfortable. Private bath attached to the unit, and TV with several channels. Around the corner is a terrific bakery, a pharmacy and post office, hairdresser and pub. Across the street was a decent fish and chips/Chinese takeaways shop. Down the street is a dairy with organic milk and some fresh produce. The location is close to other businesses and a short hop into the city center.

Good value

Booked very last minute (30 mins) as Otago Peninsular full. Motel alongside road, a few mins drive above Dunedin. Fish & Chip shop, food store across road. Large supermarket, petrol station a few mins drive further up road. Nothing special to look at BUT speedy check-in, friendly, efficient manager who was exceedingly good at his job. Thank you. The room was spacious, great facilities and we had a quiet, relaxing night after a long days drive. Bed and linen comfortable and good quality fixtures and fittings in room. Highly recommend accommodation and special thank you to management for being so welcoming, HAPPY and a pleasure to deal with.

Great Motel and Happy, Cheerful Management

This motel is just outside Dunedin on the way to the Otago Peninsular.  Its not in a fantastic location and we were a little worried when we pulled up for our one night stay.  However, we were delighted.  The hostess allowed us to check in early.   The room was huge with a double and a single bed, plus a kitchen.  It was spotlessly clean and the wifi was really good.   You can also walk to a fish & chip shop and a local brew pub.   The road is not that busy and we stayed during peak season.   For the money, this was the best value place we stayed in.  Highly recommended if you want a budget place to stay.

Pleasant surprise - nice motel on Otaga Peninsular

We just need a quiet place for sleep, a clean room, cosy and warm, nice shower and clean bathroom, welcoming service, and at affordable rate. All met by our room. The motel is located in a quiet road, parking off road, the wall heater working well, spacious room, good shower and clean bathroom, welcoming manager and all coming at affordable rate, superb. On top of these the flat TV offer the NetFlix programme,with heaps of film and TV programs available. If only minor, really minor, the pillow was a bit too soft.

Just what we need

We stayed one night at this motel and had a room in the old main house, a nice little room, a very small bathroom, and the kitchenette in a small closet.

Good price-performance, but old

The motel is a bit out of the way in Dunedin, but it was a good starting point for tourist destinations on the Otago Peninsula. Not particularly modern, but a large room with country-style motel facilities.

A little off, but still pleasant.

We had a studio room for two nights at the Arcadian Motel in Dunedin. The location is a little outside the downtown area, which means you can't necessarily walk, but you can get there by car in a few minutes. When you go to the Otago Peninsula (Larnach Castle, Albatros Station,...) you get out of town very quickly because of the location on the outskirts of the city. Our room was large, beautiful and well equipped. There was free internet, where the code could only be used by one device. If you have (as in our case) two smartphones, you have to buy an additional code for the second device.

Good price-performance ratio

This motel is cheap and offers very good comfort. It has a parking lot, it is a 5-minute drive from the centre of Dunedin. The reception is very nice. The room is spacious, there is a kitchen equipped, TV, heating, everything very clean and welcoming. We even borrowed a laptop to check the internet and the weather.
