We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, older style rooms but they have everything you need and are very comfortable. Thank you Debbie for a wonderful stay, you were very kind to us, will definitely stay again when in town 

Excellent service 

Recently we stayed at the Beach Lodge Motel with a group of 15 students. They were so accomodating to us and made us feel very welcome.  The rooms were cleaned of rubbish daily and the students dishes were washed properly and put away. The students were really impressed to come back each day to a tidy unit and this encouraged them to keep it tidy too. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay with a group as its off the road and safe. The basketball hoop was a hit for down times with the boys!

Group Booking

Our ice hockey team (20 players and helpers) had a great 4 days at the beach lodge. I minute from the ice rink and 2 mins to St Clair.  Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Already booked in for next year.

Fantastic host.

Lovely clean rooms with great cooking facilities. Very close to the beach and Natalie told us about Back Beach at Port Chalmers so we went for a beautiful walk looking at the boat houses then to the pub for a great lunch. Very helpful staff.

Clean and Cozy

Apon arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner Natalie, she showed us to our room, which was warm and ready to go as the staff had already gone out of their way to turn on the heater and electric blankets for us.
Unit was exceptionally clean and the staff who serviced our unit the next day were friendly and helpful.
I highly recommend Beachlodge if you are looking for a quite off the street motel.
We will definitely be returning when we are back down this way..

Amazing stay

How could not give The Beach Lodge Motel a GREAT review? Natalie and Miles welcome you with open arms and help to make your stay in Dunedin very memorable and enjoyable. It’s in a great location, a easy drive to visit the Otago Pennisula, pubs, cafes and beaches. Natalie was very helpful with providing local knowledge on where to visit locally (Port to Port boat cruise-A must do for wildlife enthusiasts) a real bonus! The Retro units were clean & tidy and well equipped including to the towel rails in the shower area. The organic herb and vegetable gardens that are planted throughout The Beach Lodge Motel are not only pleasing to the eye, They taste great and a real welcome treat for visitors. So do yourselves a favour and don’t hesitate to book into this affordable and cheery place!

My wife and I are visiting the South Island and we were recommended to stay at this motel from friends who have recently stayed at Beach Lodge Motel. Our booking was handled very well by email before we left home and on arrival we were greeted by the delightful Natalie an energetic Aussie.

Natalie showed us our accommodation and advised us about coffee shops, fish and chips across the road and tours including Port to Port Cruise and Lanach Castle. Natalie's son Miles showed us how to drive out to Port Chalmers and the Octagon in the centre of town plus showed us the short walk to the beach.

While this is an old style motel our room has been freshly painted, fantastic bed, good heating and small kitchenette which was appreciated. The motel was full on the two nights we stayed there but all was very quiet and set back from the road so no noise from the road.

Our room was very clean on arrival and the cleaners came in every day and did a superb job. 

We have enjoyed Dunedin so much we are going to return again in a few days after touring around Invercargill.

Great Location and Value for Money

The Beach Lodge Motel catered well for our group of soccer players attending a tournament. Friendly staff and communicated well when organising our booking. Gave helpful advise on the best places to eat in the local area. A great stay and we hope to be back.

Great for groups

This is a moderately priced, old-fashioned concrete block style motel which is kept well maintained.  We stayed in a studio unit with a queen and single bed in the main room which had good heater and comfortable sitting area.  There's a small well equipped kitchenette, and separate shower, handbasin and toilet.    Recommended for a couple on a budget and perfect for a short stay of 1-3 nights.

Reasonably priced and comfortable

Great location for what we needed. Had all the facilities and bedding options we required. Friendly staff who are very helpful and knowledgeable of value for money tourist attractions. Rooms were serviced daily.
