A return trip to one of our favorite places in NZ. Good size room, ace bathroom and neat set up for diy breakfast. Close to lots of interesting stuff to do (Farewell Spit  is worth the cost), and good advice from Trish and Mike, cheerful bunch of fellow guests and a big soppy dog.

A happy return

Thanks for a great stay. We loved our room and the facilities on offer. It was great being able to get our breakfast (delicious food left out!)  when it suited, and also it worked well being able to use the barbeque and prepare an evening meal. Our hosts were helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
 The lighting in our room was not the best but apart from that, everything was perfect. Highly recommended.

A perfect two nights.

This is a sublime place to stay in Golden Bay. We pass through Takaka every year on our way to Awaroa Inlet but could find nowhere to stay in Takaka this year. Lucky us, as we instead found Twin Waters. Trish and Mike are great hosts, from the welcome to the welcoming drink - you feel invited into a family. The location is fantastic - Collingwood just to the south and Farewell Spit just to the north. You are basically in the very best part of the bay. Trish and Mike know it very well and can help with any advice about what to see. Best part of our stay was sharing the incredible breakfasts with the other guests - that is 2 other guests! Think small and very happy.

The room we had was great - spacious and private. Trish makes it clear you can interact or stay on your own as you see fit.

Also check out the School House Restaurant - minutes away for an excellent dinner - and the Court House restaurant in Collingwood for an excellent lunch.

If you are going to Golden Bay you should definitely think about Collingwood or north of there. That is where it turns into a unique place and Twin Waters is a perfect spot to access it from

Thanks Trish and Mike for a perfect start to our annual holiday. Awaroa treated us once again to a perfect two weeks but the stay at Twin Waters became a brilliant new start!

Fantastic place to stay in stunning Golden Bay

We enjoyed our visit at Twin Rivers Lodge.  Trish makes a great breakfast and had fabulous recommendations for dinner spots.  We highly recommend the lodge. 

Golden Bay is an amAing spot with lots of birds and huge vistas. The NZ people are very friendly.

Great spot

The property is perfectly located with a walk to the beach and with perfect hosts in Mike and Trish you cannot have asked for more ,the rooms are perfect and the beds great wake up to the bird song and a hot cooked breakfast by the hosts feels at home.
At high tide you can step into the water chest deep with views to keep in your minds and heart.

You cannot get a better place

This hotel is very unique, loads of character and run by Trish and Mike, who are marvelous hosts. They are welcoming, very helpful and lots of tips on where to visit. 
Our room is stunning (photo attached), a massive lounge for guests with self catering in a kitchenette off the lounge. It has lovely outdoor seating areas to relax as well as a terrace adjoining the bedroom.The breakfasts are freshly cooked by Trisha who is both generous and spoils her guests with choice, my husband thought it was his birthday everyday with the fabulous cooked breakfast he tucked into. Mike is a star coffee barista, so a great start to our day. The Lodge is set in a beautiful area a few minutes walk from a fantastic beach. I have also included a photo of one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to, with baby seals frolicking in the water under the watchful eye of their mother.
This lovely hotel, and beautiful area is well worth spending time relaxing and exploring.

Fabulous place, great hosts

I was really impressed with the Twin Waters Lodge. We are from the North Island and stayed for 3 nights in one of the double rooms. 
The beds are very comfy. The rooms are large and roomy. The bathroom is modern and immaculate. Great hot water with good pressure. Even the luxury of two sinks!! The place is pin drop quiet at night and during the day you hear and see beautiful native birds (Tui, fantail). 

The rooms have complimentary tea ad coffee, as well as cups and plates etc. 
The hosts Trish and mike were so welcoming and kind. They have two lovely dogs too. 
Trish and mike make a delicious breakfast (full range of options - cereal, muesli , toast, cooked eggs and bacon, jams and spreads) all from locally produced fruit and produce. 

Laundry service available for NZD$25 for a full load (wash, dry, folding). 
There are several lounge areas for you to sit and relax with a good book or game or even watch TV. 
There is also a kitchenette + pots, toaster, plates, cutlery etc for people who fancy some light cooking. 
You can safely park your car on the property. The beach is only a 1-2 minute walk away. 
With regards to meals, we highly recommend eating out at the local restaurant 3km away called Old school Cafe. 

Overall the accomodation was luxurious, relaxing and the hosts were so wonderful. I highly recommend to not only overseas travellers but also Kiwi travellers like myself! 

Relaxing place to stay 

Trish and Mike made us very welcome, along with Flynn and Jethro ( furry hosts). Great location and well apportioned room with a guest lounge which has a kitchette. Trish and Mike offered great knowledge on the local area - walks, restaurants, activities and tailored advice depending on individuals activity level and preferences. The hearty breakfast kept us going most of the day. Look forward to returning in the future
