Really enjoyed our short stay, we had originally booked for two nights but ended up staying just one due to weather and wanting to return home. Our accommodation was basic but very clean and suited our budget. Nice curtains by the way Tracy! :) Tracy couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

Fantastic customer service

Just stayed at the Alpine apartments and holiday park.
Booked for two nights as we were horse riding in the morning.   Unfortunately the horse riding was cancelled due to weather so we had no reason to stay the second night.  We left a day early and thought we would receive a refund.  We were told no as it was not in the cancelation period and they were running a business.  I completely understand this if  they were fully booked and had to turn bookings away, however we were were the ONLY ones in the tenting area.
A little common sense would be nice.  The horse riding gave us a full refund and we will return in February to try again.  We would also have rebooked at the camping ground had they been a little more amenable.  Unfortunately I'll now book somewhere else.

Little customer service.

We recently stayed in Smithy Cottage 
So comfortable and rustic we did not want to leave. The camp has beautiful grounds, room was super clean & had everything we needed.

Comfort at its best

Lovely hosts very accommodating, beautiful and quiet such a lovely place to camp, lots of amazing walks just over the road and the dog loved it, short walk into town, large sites for the caravan definitely our new go to camp ground thank you

We planned to stay at an unpowered site, but promptly after arriver and setting up our tent one of our group members was harassed repeatedly by an abusive person staying in the cabin next door. We left immediately as we felt extremely uncomfortable, and let the owners know as soon as we had left and requested a refund.

No contact was made, followed up two days later and was told no refund would be given as the owners had talked to the people who had harassed us and decided that we were lying. This was without asking us what happened or attempting to rectify the situation. Still no refund and are ignoring subsequent contact, so am leaving a bad review to let others know:

Don't stay here as this business doesn't take harassment seriously

This campground offers a quiet location near the forest. We were in a camper so can’t comment on the apartments. The grounds, playground and amenities need some maintenance. Bathroom and laundry areas could be cleaner.

Needs some TLC

Hi we had a cabin and found this, well appointed, very warm and comfortable. From check in time (which we complied with) until our departure 3 days later we thoroughly enjoyed the amenities location and our stay overall. Our hosts Tracy and Tony went out of their way to make us welcome. As a result of a serious medical even involving our grand daughter in the middle of the night, they both went out of their way to deal with all associated issues. We thank them for their help and for making our visit very memorable, (could have done without the medical event but all is well now) On our next South Island trip we will be sure to stay there again. Thank you Tracy and Tony.

Excellent care and friendly service

Maybe the lady on reception was having a bad day. Didn't feel very welcome and felt more of an inconvenience. Unfortunately, the earlier check in we thought we could get that was advertised on the website was incorrect, which we didn't find out until we got there and were shown a sign on the door. The website has since been updated to reflect the  same information in the office.

It was warm enough and bathroom facilities adequate. Some interesting 'artwork' and 'commentry' in the kitchen area.

Final verdict: Wouldn't stay again.

Would not stay again

Stayed in a cabin for one night, refused check in at advertised time. Told I should of been able to read the times on the door. Which is a little odd to expect people to read the door from their starting point. Cabin nice except took nearly 3 hours to cook oven fries in the oven. Was told one price via confirmation email but charged an extra $60. When I rung she told me to take it up with commerce commission. She was very rude both in person and via the phone 

 DONT STAY HERE!!!!

Overcharged, rude staff

Stayed for 1 night. Disgusting!! Food on floor, room stunk and grass growing up between the stairs. Over priced and horrible. Never ever again!!!! DONT STAY THERE!!!!
Charged even for a wee dog. A dogs kennel would be cleaner than this. You can’t drive your car close to the unit to unpack. Burn mark on wall next to oven and overall tired looking cabin.
