The establishment is under new management, undergoing much needed maintenance, cleaning and upgrading. The owners are honest about the pre-existing issues and are receptive to any input, good or bad . They plan on making as many improvements as cashflow allows this year.

New management

I received the worst possible customer service from the manager, rude and aggressive. You could not pay me to stay here again. Avoid this dump at all costs. The place is filthy and appears to be more of a halfway hotel. I was shocked with the service I received here.

Avoid like the plague.

We picked this campsite out of the NZMCA Travel guide.what a mistake that was.
Dirty .. Dusty .. and full of low standard permanent campers.
The Kitchen was filthy and wasn't cleaned for the two days we were there.
Only one washing out of two worked .. dog poo was evedent as the permanents obviously don't bother to pick it up.
We were put by some permanent random who was doing his best to cough up his lungs intermingled into his loud music.
The shower and toilet block was not cleaned in the two nights we were there
Got to be the worst place we have evrer stayed

Motor camp stay

The motel cancelled our booking 30 mins before our arrival after travelling 5 hours from Christchurch even though the booking was confirmed through booking.com six months prior - leaving us no place to stay as Nelson was fully booked over the new year period. Absolutely disgusted with how the situation occurred and how it was handled. The owner was clearly money hungry as our room was booked to someone else straight away and he was hardly sincere about it. Would never recommend anyone stay here.

Great wee place and was perfect for elderly parents  and me .  Two single beds and  a double in the  lounge  - very roomy and  also had a big bathroom and wet shower which was a bonus.  was a bit of road noise

out of town a bit but well appointed clean and comfy

Stayed just for one night en route to the ferry. Pleasant staff. Shop on site was unfortunately closed due to a fire but we were not informed on arrival or on the website.
No restaurants/cafes nearby so we had to get in car and drive for evening meal. 
Located next to a very noisy road with lorries thundering along all night and the walls shook at times.

Great value for money, and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and tidy, so highly recommended. We needed a place to stay which was close to the Nelson airport, but also close to many vineyards and garden cafes. Perfect location for what we needed.
