A beautiful old home with a great host, Peter, who was very helpful and friendly. We had the en-suite room which was very spacious and good value. A lovely breakfast provided in the morning. Hokitika was a great unexpected stop for us, very relaxed and calm,

A Hidden Gem

Really good accommodation in a quiet street and close to town with the shops, restaurants etc. Clean, tidy, quiet, warm and comfortable. Good shower in ensuite and good continental breakfast . Excellent and friendly service.

2 night stay

We stayed at the ACE Accommodation for one night.  It's a clean and comfortable place in a residential neighborhood.  The wifi was strong, the room was big.  Breakfast was included and was self service.  There was fruit, tea/coffee, cereal, toast and jam, and instant noodles.  While there's no elevator, the owner helped carry luggage up the stairs.

Clean and comfortable

Peter does an efficient job of running this B&B in a light-filled, comfortable 100-plus-year-old house just a few blocks from the center of Hokitika. Our room was huge, with inviting queen and twin beds, and enough room to also accommodate a little sitting area: two armchairs, a table and TV. One drawback was that the bathroom was down the hall, but we had the exclusive use of it. And a plus is that the porch that spans the upstairs front is a great spot for viewing sunsets over the nearby Tasman Sea. The continental breakfast provided (cereal, yogurt, good coffee, toast) also suited us just fine.

A pleasant retreat

We had the best stay at this place during our trip of south island. The owner was a gem and he assured that we had the best possible facilities. The room was excellent, best wifi in the whole south island wherever we stayed. Bathrooms and rooms were very clean with complementary breakfast. Best place to stay if you don't cook as here they don't have facilities to make food but they have fridge and microwave, toaster and basic stuff. We enjoyed this place the most with our two young kids. The owner has too many achievements in sports. Enjoy your stay.

Best in the town

A very fairly priced motel with very comfortable beds and large spacious rooms! Staff are friendly and polite!!! Awesome spot close to town!  There are restaurants attached to the hotel with reasonable rates and offering a wide choice of food on the menus!!! 


Very comfortable sleep

This is a charming old 2-storey bungalow located just outside the town centre. However, as Hokitika is a small town, the town centre is within walking distance.  The room we stayed in was basic but comfortable enough and we had a good night's rest after a tiring drive from Christchurch. This place marked our first night in South Island. All rooms were upstairs and the shared bathroom was big. Peter, the owner lived downstairs with his wife and was friendly. Having a car and driving around NZ was certainly a very big advantage as affordable public transportation was not so readily available. Breakfast was nothing special, just simple DIY of coffee/tea, toast etc. Price was slightly higher than other places we stayed in while touring NZ, but it was one of the lowest we could find in Hokitika. Good for a night's stay before moving on.  The front has a well kept garden.

Charming old house

Wow! What an amazing property to have the privilege to stay in- truly wonderful- the balcony was great to look out onto the mountains from! Peter made us so welcome and was so informative about how we could make the most of our very short stay in this beautiful and different part of South Island! Excellent value for money as well. Breakfast was included as well! Thank you!

Leisure

This is a lovely old house, in a quiet street just outside the centre of Hokitika but within easy walking distance. There is a pretty front garden and a BBQ area to the side. Parking is no problem. Peter, the host, and his wife live on the ground floor and the guest bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs. Guests also have use of a  lounge as well as the breakfast room. All the rooms are spacious and have high ceilings and big windows. The whole house feels very bright. Decoration is not the latest fashion but I found my room very pleasant. It was good to have a desk and chair and a desk lamp. The bathrooms are big and one of them has a huge corner bathtub with hot jets. Breakfast was simple, no cooked food on offer but a choice of cereals, noodles for those who might prefer that, bread or toast and home-made jams, tea,coffee, the usual. Peter was very friendly and helpful to me and the other people who were staying.
