Beautiful view from the room, very welcoming hosts.  Continental breakfast fixings are provided in the room's kitchen area - cereals, eggs, toast, yoghurt - and the room is L-shaped so that the "living room" area is around the corner/away from the sleeping area, a good layout.  Nice hand-wash and shower gel provided, but bring your own shampoo if you need it.  The local pub/restaurant is a short walk away, as is the beach.

Wonderful view of the ocean!

Beautifully appointed accommodation with own entrance. Stunning ocean views from room and private patio area.  

Stayed 2 nights and could have easily spent much longer at such an idyllic spot.

Hosts Joan & John were very welcoming and gave us some great activity advice.

Have been meaning to post this review for 3 months since our visit as Molyneux House deserves the highest praise.

Sensational!

Lovely location, beautiful accomodation and friendly, helpful hosts. Joan and John are lovely people and their local knowledge was really helpful.  Our room was spacious, comfortable with lots of luxurious touches. Breakfast was generous and handy as food outlets are limited. Highly recommended. We’d love to visit again. Thank you ☺️

Magic location…beautiful accomodation😌

This is a wonderful place to stay.  It's filled with homely touches and feels so comfortable, not the usual starchy-modern type of room.  The view was of the lovely garden and the sea which we enjoyed from the couch and the dining table during breakfast.  We were fortunate to have fantastic weather during our stay.  The room is very comfortable and it was warm and clean.  Joan and John are friendly hosts and we enjoyed meeting them and having a chat.

Had a wonderful stay

What a lovely apartment with a great view of the bay.
We were greeted warmly and given a suggestion for dinner. Our host even phoned through and booked us a table.
Everything in the apartment was pretty and so very clean.
Lots of little extra touches which made our one night stay perfect.
The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious.
It was a plus to have the wee mini bar as a wine to enjoy while relaxing and taking in the view was just lovely.

A real treat

I was privileged to be Joan’s guest on a solo escape.  Joan has equipped her home with so many small, nice touches on top of a well appointed suite.  From the radio that that softly playing as I arrived, to the breakfast eggs displayed delightfully in a basket in the breakfast nook, to the banana bread fresh from the oven as I arrived.  Plus the room is warm, bed comfortable, bathroom spacious, and any breakfast tastes are well catered for.  Joan is the consummate host and this showed in her care making a dinner reservation for me and sending me off with more of the yummy banana bread the next morning.  It was a shame I was only a guest for one night.

Excellent host and full of small, nice touches

Joan and John made us very welcome to this lovely, comfortable, self-contained apartment with a beautiful view across the road to the sea no matter what the weather.   We were warm and cosy, and the Catlins' attractions were within easy reach - just don't think you can do everything in a day.  Tides and weather were a bit against us but we took advantage of delicious breakfasts and having three days to take things easy.   We appreciated the beautifully set table and well presented amenities, good heater and plenty to read, music to listen to.  We were able to catch up on laundry, always a plus when travelling.   There's a full kitchen but go prepared with groceries, not many shops in the Catlins.   Joan thoughtfully booked a table at 'The Point' restaurant for us in case we needed it on our first night.    Home away from home with touches of luxury - thank you for a much needed, relaxing stay.

Peaceful retreat

Joan & John are superb hosts of this lovely B&B. Watching the sun rise whilst enjoying a fabulous breakfast was special and magnificent. A beautifully appointed lounge, kitchenette and modern bathroom awaits guests just across the road from the ocean.

Fantastic B&B

This is one of those places where you almost feel guilty to stay in case you put something out of place. The hosts are so friendly and it was nice that they had beer and wine on hand for purchase as I felt like a beer whilst watching the Prada Cup on TV. Stunning views and within walking distance of the pub if required. any pictures I have are so similar to what already is on the site. Hope to be back one day.

Just right

Lovely B and B in a home run by Joan and John. Very peaceful, you wouldn’t even know they were there. Ocean at the doorstep, short walk to swim beach, pub and restaurant. Fresh eggs and yummy jam a feature of breakfast. So peaceful to sit in the evening and watch the ocean roll in.
