The rooms are quite roomy with a great kitchen. We had a lovely little backyard area as well along with easy parking. The owners are quite nice as well. About the only thing we didn't have was a laundry (but we did have the shared pool and spa). There is a grocery store right next door as well. We would stay here again.

Clean and roomy

We stayed one night here to visit Hobbiton as part of a larger road trip.  Overall, it was a nice stay.  The motel is basic, but comfortable.  Our room was a little cramped with 2 people, but for one night, it was fine.  The central business district in town starts about a block away, so it's easy to walk over for a coffee or breakfast.  My only complaint is that we did a load of laundry while we were there and the dryer didn't work well.  I spent 8 dollars trying to dry one load and still ended up with wet clothes.

Really friendly host, beautiful, clean room with very comfortable beds.
Very well appointed. There's even a set of playing cards - hey kids, google " how to amuse yourself without an electronic device".  We would definitely "Stay Here" again.

Perfect For LOTR Fans

Amazing motel if you've got kids, they absolutely loved the tramp, bikes/scooters and playground and wanted to stay longer.

The staff were amazing, I had accidentally booked for the wrong month online and they were still able to fit us in - completely my mistake, but they were so awesome moving things around, which could've been very stressful with a 5 yr & 1 yr old.

Room was really spacious and looked out to the playground area, if we had more time, it would've been a great spot to let the kids play and sit and relax. 

Spa was really nice on a frosty morning. 

Would definitely book again if heading to Matamata :)

Great family spot

This Motel was a real find. The room was spotless and the Motel was well maintained, with a great childrens playing area and pool. A very easy walk to the centre of town. The staff were so friendly and the owner was kind enough to let us store our bikes in his lock up shed. This is a gem in Matamata and we would highly recommend this Motel to future travellers.

Fabulous Matamata Motel.

The room was fantastic! Comfy beds, nice and clean! And the shower is amazing! Diann is so kind and accommodating, and she had a great recommendation for a restaurant in town. Pool and spa were on site, with towels available to use. EV was available close by to the office as well.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at this Awesome family motel highly recommend for families with children with a wonderful playground and toys while mum and dad sit on the patio and watch them play.

Fantastic

Booked last minute and Diann & Tony Voyce were so helpful and welcoming. The whole place is amazing with lovely well maintained gardens, outdoor areas, large outdoor play area. Immaculate and great value, close to all shops - my number 1 place to book now.

Modern, immaculate accommodation

This place is an absolute gem! Located on the Main Street in Matamata, it was centrally located  for walkable evening dining options and just a quick drive to Hobbiton.  Our room had a small kitchenette with a sitting room, and separate bedroom.   I loved the spacious bathroom.
