Second time there within a year - why? Great hosts make a nice place exceptional. William and Johann offer outstanding hospitality, fine food and a welcoming atmosphere in their home without compromising your independence.

Great Hosts and Elegance

Meaning to write this for quite some time and finally doing it. In short William and Johann are one of the most amazing hosts we have ever stayed with. Very accommodative, welcoming and friendly. Can't speak higher enough about their hospitality. We will come back for sure. 

Awesomeness 

I have been meaning to write this review since our stay last November.  I often think about our fabulous three days we spent in Moana.  We thought we would be having a very quiet couple of days, but instead we had a very social stay!  

 William and Johann were fantastic hosts and we had amazing meals. 

They had some other most entertaining guests staying at the same time, and we all had dinner together which was like a brilliantly organised dinner party!

The accommodation was excellent, and William went out of his way to collect us and deliver us to the train, and take us to the local fete which was held whilst we were there. They could not be more helpful.

We recommend their accommodation to everyone.

The Most Wonderful Lodge to Stay At!

We stayed two nights at Aldamere Lodge in early October, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The rooms are top notch, and the food is to die for. I could have sat in the lounge all day and watched the view. We loved taking the kayaks out on the lake, it was so relaxing. William and Johann could not have been more welcoming, and they were great with our two kids. We can’t wait to go back some day :) 

Great place! 

What a wonderful stay we enjoyed at Aldamere Lodge these last three days. The room, the hospitality, the wonderful food, mine hosts, the spa, the beautiful view, the roaring fire and the sunshine all added up to a fabulous stay.

Mid winter visit to an all year round special getaway

William and Johann will look after you ftom the minute you arrive til you leave. Their home is very modern and comfortable with stunning views across the lake. Great walks if the weather permits. Not many places to eat locally but they do a fantastic dinner and breakfast. As we were travelling we were delighted to get our laundry done. 

Relax and be looked after overlooking the lake

Great size room with en suite, clean and tidy B&B. Excellent host, gave us some handy local knowledge. Delicious breakfast, if you get the chance to I'd recommend eating here. Cannot wait to come back again.

Beautiful place to stay

Very nicely appointed room with own ensuite.  the hosts are super friendly and accommodating, just lovely. Breakfast was included in the rate and was delicious. Cooked to order!
The location looks out over the Lake which is stunning.

Lovely Location

When looking for a place to stay for a night while driving the coast on our Honeymoon we found the Aldamere Lodge, it looked cozy with a great location. When we arrived we were greeted with that and so much more! Johann and William are the very best of hosts, inviting but not intrusive, easy to talk to and absolutely eager to please and make sure your stay is amazing. You can just tell they love what they do from how you are treated and the stories they tell about prior guests who are now friends. We also decided to do dinner with them and will say that it was an amazing meal. Being from NYC we are exposed to some pretty great restaurants and can safely say that this meal was better than the meals served at many of them. It also comes accompanied with the great company of the hosts in a setting that is picture perfect. If we ever make it back to that side of the world we will be coming back for seconds :) 

Amazing hosts, 5 star accommodations, don't miss the dinner!

Spent the first 2 nights of a 4 week stay in NZ at this beautiful property. If you are planning to fly to Christchurch and then drive down the west coast, this is a great start to the trip. An amazing drive through Arthur’s Pass, and this location is wonderful. Greymouth on the coast is disappointing, so we thought this is a much better choice. The hospitality offered by Johann was exceptional. Great attention to detail, incredible views across the lake, and delicious home cooked food with genuinely entertaining hosts. There is a great walk through the rain forest and up the mountain within minutes of the house, and a pot of tea and biscuits waiting for you when you return. Perfect.
