Super comfy bed, great wifi (watched the rugby), friendly, great value. A haven after a good tramp up Mt Te Aroha in the afternoon.  Gave us a great meal recommendation too - The Duck and Cover - awesome

A home away from home.

Denise was the perfect host. The Nunnery is spotlessly clean and the rooms are beautifully decorated. Top quality beds, bedding and towels. Our bikes were safely stored. This B and B is very close to town and the hot pools. It is very good value for money. I would definitely return

Perfect host and venue

This is really a de luxe backpackers’ hostel/motel with a small, comfortable, double room with en suite. Basic but sufficient, very clean and tidy. Good location and good value. Recommended. Don’t just come again, make it a habit.

Come again

We chose here while doing the Hauraki Rail Trail. Great location one block from main street, Host just lovely, and gave us a little history on the building. Rooms tastefully decorated, had small shared lounge, kitchen, deck and large private grounds. We look forward to coming back.

We felt 'Blessed' to stay here!

Stayed here for 2 nights - before and after we cycled the Hauraki Trail.  

We booked the 5-room accommodation wing for 8 of us. This was excellent value.  It was super clean, quiet, comfortable and in a great location.  Each room had different furnishings and an original plant/animal to identify the door (as well as a number).  The robes provided in each room  made the shared bathroom a non-issue.  The lounge and kitchen were comfortable and had all we needed (including a nun habit on request!). 

This is a very well-thought out place to stay - we couldn't think of anything that needed improving.  Thanks for being such an excellent host Denise!

Loved staying here!

Denise was a pleasure to deal with and we felt welcome before we had even arrived!  Our self contained unit was very well set up with everything we needed.  Clean, tidy and nicely decorated. Thank you for our stay and we are very happy to recommend The Nunnery.  Ross and Penny

Very pleasant stay at The Nunnery

Absolutely comfortable & enjoyable stay. Fabulous & welcoming host. Great location just a stumble to shops & restaurants. Excellent internet connection, clean & warm cosy room & ammenities. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

Home away from home

We got everything we're expect for our stay, really clean room and shared bathroom, very quiet place at night, proper size of room, nice shared living and dining room with plenty of fantastic books, the surrounding landscape and beautiful view of Mount Te Aroha, and very welcoming host, Denise, what else ? Happy stay at lovely place.

Happy stay ............ lovely place

We were here for a family weekend (3 adult children with two partners, and us - married couple). Denise our host was very welcoming and great to deal with. The rooms were just as we expected, warm, clean and welcoming. We had booked out the whole accommodation wing so we had the lounge all to ourselves. Te Aroha is a great place for a weekend with lots to do if you are active people.

Fantastic place to stay

We stayed the one night while on a nostalgic road trip. As has been well mentioned the hostess, Denise, is very welcoming which makes for a great start. We booked the room with its own bathroom. This was spacious. The bed was large and very comfortable. There is an accessible toilet so heaps of room. The position is close to the town centre so walking everywhere is easy. It is important to be aware the other rooms have shared bathroom facilities. We did view these and the rooms looked very comfortable and of a good size. Location is very quiet and peaceful. The past history of the accommodation is also very interesting.Would not hesitate to stay again,
