Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Philip was an amazing host, very friendly and really fun and interesting. The setting of the B&B has a lovely outlook and the room and bed were very comfortable. There is a lovely lounge to sit in and enjoy a nightcap.  Great breakfast too. Can’t think of anywhere better to spend a night in Murchison.

Fabulous stay

This place is amazing. Went with my daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren and we had the whole house when we got there late in the day Philip had a roaring fire going in the living room was amazingly cozy rooms, extremely comfortable and very well appointed, and in the morning Philippa cooked one of the best B&B breakfast I've ever had bread was homemade as were the jams.
I can very highly recommend this place. Philip was extremely friendly and welcoming, and made it an extraordinary stay

One of the best B&Bs I have ever stated

Superb!  After a long and difficult journey through the Lewis pass just before it was closed due to snow. I arrived cold and wet from charging my car. Imagine my delight when I was met by Philip (in the rain) to welcome me to their adorable B & B. 
The fire was lit in the wood burner in their cosy living room... just for me, as I was the only guest that night. A very comfortable night in their modern "Fantail" room was followed by an excellent breakfast, fresh expresso coffee and fantastic (Swiss) bread made fresh that morning !

Great stay, hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The common area was fully equipped with snacks and games.  Breakfast cooked to order with hot and cold options.  Farm fresh free range eggs from chickens on the property.  Nice walk to sit and relax by the river.  Close enough to walk to town for shops and cafes.

Great stop or a short stay!

Fantastic place to stay, rooms were very clean and spacious. A beautiful timber lodge with warm and inviting common area, fire place with comfortable lounges to sit in front of the fire and enjoy a scotch or cup of tea.
The hosts Philip and Daphne were friendly and welcoming, whilst the breakfast they put together were extra special. Mostly home grown produce and fresh baked European style bread. 
The setting beside the Buller River is idealic. Loved our stay there. 

Beautiful lodge in a pretty part of the world.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the lodge.  The hosts were very friendly and helpful.  The lodge was very clean, open and comfortable.  The breakfast was outstanding!!!  We were asked what we wanted and when the night before, but they were flexible that morning if other items looked good (and they all did!).  They also cooked us dinner the night we were there as it was a Monday and most restaurants around were closed.  Dinner was excellent also!

Wonderful - highly recommend

Loved our one night stay here. Lovely location surrounded by trees and close to river but still walking distance to the town’s shops & restaurants.  Spotlessly clean lovely spacious rooms, very comfortable.  Everything you needed was provided, loved the little touches like the jug of water in room, the chocolate brownie, the insect repellant available downstairs, selection of books - everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible.  Hosts were fantastic and looked after us so well and breakfast was fabulous!

Quiet, relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings.

We spent one night at the Lodge on our way from the West Coast back to Blenheim, so we could fully charge our EV.  Peter and Daphne, our hosts, met us on arrival and arranged the necessary electrical connection and provided us with a tasty vegetarian dinner at short notice.  The Lodge is in a secluded area near to the Buller River - we could see it from our room - with lovely walks through the bush and fields near the river.
Our room was spacious and well appointed, with comfortable furniture, places for our bags and a lovely ensuite.  Our hosts and other guests were interesting and engaging.  The breakfast was ample and very tasty, with lovely home baked bread.  We would certainly  stay at the Lodge when we pass through Murchison again. 

Wonderful place to stay

Wonderful welcome by hosts Philippe , Daphne and young Ben, could not be cleaner, gorgeous room, beautiful setting close to the lovely little township of Murchison. Ideal stopover if on a road trip further down the south Island. Breakfast was served with great interaction with Philippe and was perfect with all you need to start the day. Hopefully, will be back again even if it's 10,000 miles from my home.

Exceptional B and B in Murchison, New Zealand.

As we pulled up the drive, our host Phillip, greeted us and showed us around this warm and comfortable lodge, decorated in beautiful, handcrafted woodwork. Our room was spacious and comfy; the bathroom was modern with a huge walk-in shower and a large soaking tub. We had the option of having dinner served by our hosts Phillip and Daphne, and it was very tasty and filling. Then we nestled in the living room, in front of a warm stove fire and enjoyed a glass of wine, while listening to the birds singing outside. In the morning we feasted on a large breakfast of eggs, bacon, fruit and homemade scones. Yum! After breakfast, there was time for a lovely walk down the garden path that leads to a gazebo overlooking the river. A perfect end to our stay.
