We stayed in a motel unit at the Otorohanga Kiwi Holiday Park for one night. The room was adequate for our needs, being quite spacious and close to town. The automatic check-in at the kiosk was efficient but lacked a personal touch that other holiday parks in New Zealand have. Service was prompt when we encountered an issue with our room, and it was quickly dealt with; thank you. In regards to the overall cleanliness, the room appeared to be well-maintained, however, there seemed to be a noticeable scent which perhaps could be addressed in future cleaning routines to enhance the freshness of the room. Despite this minor hiccup, I appreciate the efforts made to provide a comfortable stay.

Overnight Visit

Amazing! Pet friendly!! And just a wonderful place to stay! Easy to book super easy to check in! And super friendly! Thank you for making my stay positive and allowing me to have my pooch with me! 
    

Amazing service!!!

Ensuite unit was sufficient.  Rather in need of a makeover and a new mattress on the bed.  Camp facilities and grounds are very clean and tidy.  Traffic noise is an issue, but we know that when we book.  Always a good halfway stopover spot. 

Adequate facility

We had a one night stop here en route elsewhere and it was just the ticket.  Super friendly staff (we had an upgrade on our booking.)  The unit was spacious, lovely and clean with comfortable beds.  They gave us a great recommendation for dinner too (The Thirsty Weta.)  
The pool and spa pool were lovely.  
Yes, the road is noisy with the trucks trundling past but it didn't affect our sleep.

Great spot for a stopover

Very handy to town and with lovely grounds we thought this would be ideal for our 2 night stay in Otorohanga. Very friendly owner at reception gave keys to our simple cabin. Very basic but with a comfortable bed and table it was all we needed. A short walk to the kitchen and showers which were very tidy. Good shower pressure and no timer was appreciated. Kitchen lacked any utensils or cooking gear. I guessed things were stolen and not replaced. Owner confirmed loss of so many items. Kitchen television was very old SONY CRT. Completely blue tint when turned on and impossible to see clearly. Similarly dated TV in lounge. Poor quality picture. Suggest forget kitchen TV, do not offer SKY and instead get a decent HD TV that can be viewed comfortably.
Biggest disappointment was the noise and vibration of trucks that use the road outside at night to by-pass the town and no light switch near the bed to turn off when retiring for the night. Had to clamber to the front of the cabin and get back to bed in the dark.

Holiday park very close to town

It is a simple overnight accommodation. Either sleep out units, or tent site, they are simply good. With shared bathrooms and toilets, the shared kitchen let you to prepare your own food, including bbq. One of the problems, if you are a light sleeper, chose the position or units away from the road side. The adjacent road is the bypass road for big vehicles. Otherwise everything should be fine and affordable.

Simple, basic and nice

Needed to stop in the area for a night so chose here, and a single cabin.
Staff were excellent - helpful on the phone and very cordial when I arrived.
Facilities were clean and presentable. 
The cabin has a double bed which was clean, comfy and warm. Linen, pillows and blankets are provided.
It was a very cold night (down to 3 °C) and the small heater in the cabin was no match for the Waikato chill. This was not helped by the window not closing properly and letting cold air in.
The showers were clean with unlimited hot water and the shower/toilet block is located close to the cabins which is a blessing. 
The Wi-Fi is free and worked well.
As others have mentioned, this site is on a bypass road used by heavy trucks, which do make a lot of noise when they pass, but I didn't notice so many later in the night.
If you are a train spotter, this place is an excellent venue as the main trunk line runs right next to the camp!

Convenient and clean

This site is located close to the town centre within a two minute walk. It is very well managed with a lovely heated swimming pool, and I’m told a spa pool coming soon. The gym is massive and well equipped, should that appeal to you, and the showers and other facilities are spotlessly clean and well maintained. The only downside, which certainly does not reflect on the management, is the noise in particular from a nearby business. However please do not let this put you off staying here as the site itself is superb and deserves support for their efforts.

Great Site, Shame About Noisy Nearby Businesses 

We've stayed at quite a few places during our tour of New Zealand and this was certainly one of the better ones. The site is very clean and you can pick your spot once you arrive in your campervan. We spoke to Billie on arrival and she was great in reccomending things to do in the area and giving us various bits of information we need even though we arrived later in the evening. We picked this site because it was relatively close to the glow worm caves where we'd booked a day out. The location is pretty much in a town and near an industrial part as others have mentioned but this didn't bother me at all. During the day we were able to walk to the supermarket and on an evening I had no disturbance from the surrounding areas and had a great night's sleep. The air raid siren did scare the life out of us to begin with but I guess this was nothing to panic about as after a quick look outside, nobody seemed to be running!

Lovely park

2 nights in a self contained cabin which was well equipped, clean, and beds were good.
Nice shower. We stayed here primarily to spend the day at the Kiwi Bird Park which was excellent and well worth the stay. Just a 5 minute drive away.
Little noisy, background noise, during the day but thats expected being so close to town. At night the traffic noise died down and we slept well. Right next door is a nice lake which you can stretch your legs around and its an easy couple minute walk into town.
Owners are very friendly and helpful.
Would have no hesitation in staying here again.
