We were in Paihia to attend our nephews tangi and as it was Easter weekend we were very lucky to find accommodation at late notice for 5 people. Julie was very helpful and as we expected to arrive late at night she kept in contact with us by txt and she made sure we had no problems accessing our unit. 

We had the executive suite upstairs which was the perfect size for us all. As all of us adults required separate beds Julie made up a comfy mattress for the teen to sleep on the floor which I appreciated.

The suite was spacious, spotless and well equipped with everything we needed, including 3 TVs, a private balcony with our own BBQ and very nice view of the sea. Having two bathrooms made things so much easier too.

It was very handy to the beach and a supermarket was literally just across the road. In spite of being on a main road it was very quiet at night. 

Would absolutely recommend this as a place to stay in Paihia for a large whanau. Great hosts too.

A relaxing retreat when needed

Julie and Martin were brilliant to us throughout our stay. We were upgraded to a first floor suite which had excellent self catering facilities, a lovely shower and comfy bed. They were very helpful in suggesting things we could do including suggesting a chocolate factory to visit! The motel is conveniently located close to a supermarket and petrol station, and the town centre is a short stroll away. We found it an excellent base to explore from.

Happy days

Stayed here with Julie & Martin recently and they were very friendly, lovely hosts. The apartment had everything you could want, was extremely clean and close to the beach and an easy walk into the main township.  Hope to return someday soon. James & Robyn

Awesome Apartment

Julie was a warm, welcoming and accommodating host. I loved my stay. You can tell she puts great care into keeping her units clean and comfortable. There's a real personal touch to your stay too, as it feels like she welcomes you like family. Highly recommend.

Everything you need in a stay away from home

Amazing and clean. Great host! Really close to the water and feels safe. The rooms are quite large and the bathroom is spotless clean. Feels like a real hotel not a hotel that’s run down or like a motel. Recommend. Away from bars so quiet in the night.

We had a great stay in Gateway Motel.  It was perfect for our group of one couple and one family member with a bed in the lounge and a separate bedroom.  Perfectly clean, nice shower, comfortable beds and well equipped.  Nothing was too much trouble for a couple of things we needed.   We did wonder if the noise from the main road coming from Kerikeri would affect our stay, but it was no problem.  We were able to park our two cars there whilst we were away biking the Twin Coast trail which was a bonus.  We would stay again. 

Highly recommended

I came to Paihia for a wedding, solo and without a car. Julie and Martin were so helpful via email before I arrived, and once I was there, with advice on how to get there, what to do, how to get around - it felt like I wasn't solo!  The hotel was delightful & clean & comfy & perfectly appointed & modern & so comfortable, I was totally happy. The beach is literally a five minute walk. One of the best stays I've ever had anywhere.

Excellent place to stay in Paihia - truly can walk to the beach

Beautifully clean, well equipped both in the kitchenette and the bathroom with everything you need for a very pleasant stay. Parking at your door. The proprietor, Julie, was extremely helpful with restaurant and activity suggestions. Supermarket conveniently located just up the road. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent Paihia holiday accommodation 

We were warmly welcome. couple that run the place are absolutely fabulous and will help you out in anyway possible. Really nice, clean comfortable rooms. The location is very convenient. Close walking distence to the beach, restaurants, bars and the warf. Wonderful place, will stay here again.

Warm welcome

Our 5 night stay was very comfortable. The room was spotless and set up with practical kitchen equipment. Double glazing on windows eliminated any unwanted sounds and kept the place cozy. The owners Julie & Martin were friendly and helpful, even offering to drop us out to some hiking points.
They gave excellent tips for local restaurants, cafes and recreational activities. Walking distance to cafes, beach, Treaty grounds and supermarket. Highly recommend.
