We had a bit of a faff trying to find the place/owner but it was a decent accommodation with everything you would need. Only issue I'd say was having to drive into the the town (it's not really walking distance at night), but that's cos we both wanted to have a drink after a long day on the road.

Nice place but wasn't easy to find the property

I stayed in the Mountain View chalet from April 5, 2018 to April 19, 2018. It was my first trip to New Zealand so my first time staying at Hidden Valley.

When I arrived I was blown away! The chalet was so much more than I expected (actually larger than the condo I have at home in Canada). The location is gorgeous and was easy to find. I enjoyed the drive from the Auckland airport. The chalet is a perfect distance from Raglan, too: far enough to provide a lovely sense of being out in the country; close enough to not be a bother to make a quick run for some groceries or to the laundromat, or for a walk along the beach.

Mountain View is very cozy, comfortable, and clean. I prepared almost all of my meals in the kitchenette which saved me quite a lot of money during my stay. Being situated between the farmhouse and the other chalet was not a problem: it's still perfectly private and I never felt bothered. The view of Mount Karioi from the front deck and the hot tub is very nice, especially in the evenings when the sunset and clouds created pretty dramatic skies.

Some evenings when I couldn't be outside due to rain, I spent my time watching a few movies. The chalet has DVD players and there's a selection of movies up at the farmhouse which guests are welcome to borrow at their leisure. A great little perk!

Sue and Frank are friendly and helpful, but other than driving down past their home to get to the chalet, and hearing the occasional sheep bleat or cock crow, I never really had a sense that I was staying near anybody. It's very quiet at Hidden Valley overall; I could have been the only person for miles around. It made for a very relaxing getaway. :)

I was reluctant to leave! I would definitely stay in the Mountain View chalet again.

A Home Away from Home

We stayed at the tree top chalet for 2 nights. Beautiful little chalet that was well stocked. There was even a little chocolate bar by the bed. 

There's no air conditioning, so it can get a little hot in the summer afternoons, but there's a fan in both the living room and the bedroom so that helps.

The private hot tub is always switched on and ready to go so that's nice, you don't have to wait for the water to warm up. We were lucky with the weather and had clear skies, so sitting in the hot tub and staring at the incredible number of stars was pretty magical.

There's even a little coffee shop about 3 minutes if you're too lazy to cook up your own breakfast in the morning. Excellent croissants and flat whites.

Perfect location too - Absolute privacy at the chalet and Raglan's restaurants and shops are just a 20 minute drive away.

Super chilled couple days.

Stayed here for about 10 days as part of work and was the best 10 days of my life. Stayed at both the Mountain View and Tree Tops Chalets. I utilised the spa pool and BBQ almost every day and had some of the best sleeps I've had in a long time.

Location is very private and blissful. Located about 3 minutes from the Te Uku Four Square, Raglan Roast Coffee shop and Waitomo fillup. Another 10 minute drive to Raglan.

Peaceful and quiet, I felt it was an invigorating experience and a great way to revitalise the mind, body and soul, being amongst nature.

Mountain View was amazing. 
Very spacious living room and wheel-chair access ramp which was accompanied by private seating area and spa pool. 
Bathroom was very interesting, open plan I would say. 2-doors which led from the living into the bedroom.
2 TV's - one in the living room, one in the bedroom(this one came with SKY)
Bedroom also featured two sliding doors which was great for opening the place up.

Tree tops was amazing also.
A lot more private that the Mountain View. Two-storey unit with Bedroom and Bathroom/Toilet upstairs.
Spa pool is virtually right outside the door, almost, which comes with an adjustable umbrella. A very lovely outdoor setup to set the scene for a very romantic night if need be.

Plenty of towels provided. Cutlery and plates etc. provided.
Cooking oil, soap/shampoo, toilet paper.

Thanks to the great team at Hidden Valley once again, I looking forward to returning in the near future for hopefully a more romantic stay this time, rather than work.

Hidden Paradise

Charming little spot. Open views and Cruisey paced environment. Key to a relaxing weekend getaway. 
Really well presented. In very tidy condition on arrival and we really enjoyed the spa. Nice little nook in the country to hide away for a weekend. Great time.
