This is a very affordable motel with everything we needed for a nice get away. The private spa in the bathroom is massive, fills fast, and comes with bubble bath topped up daily. 

It is less than 10 minutes to every main attraction and restaurants. Nice TV and kitchen amenities. It is tidy and there’s free wifi! 

The bed and pillows could be much comfier though, and it gets quite noisy with thin walls and loud neighbours. But otherwise a pleasant stay. 

Huge Private Spa! 

we booked a suite with hot bath and kitchen, just before Christmas.  I never had noise issues and the room were really clean, the staff super friendly and professional. 
we surely come back again.

Do not stay here we booked four nights left after night two because of drunk people playing loud music in room next to us we contacted the manager four times nothing was done still music at 2am asked for a refund was told no so cut our losses this motel is crap the manager Amber cannot handle her job

Bad motel

Booked this motel 4 nights, left after 2 as got no sleep because of party next door going to 2pm which owner did not deal with even thouh we rung her 4 times would not give us a refund, room was not as described, grubby, and after a service we came back to find door not locked not happy wish I had seen other reveiws, BEWARE of motel and owner as she doesn't care as you will see if you check reveiws

Worst motel

The room was quite spacey, but time has definitely taken its toll. Kitchenette really tiny, odd bathroom setup, not too clean, but it does its job. Decent enough for 1 night. Staff was friendly enough and we got the free chocolate bar as a leaving present.

Really worn, but at least prices are adequate

Stayed in Malone’s spa motel for 4 nights in Rotorua and it might not look like much on the outside but inside the spa was massive and worked well the bed was super comfortable and on departure the owners gave us a big block of chocolate to thank us for staying with them 
Very friendly and right in the middle of town with an easy walk to the shops 

Spa motel 

Rooms were clean and comfortable, few issues with the loo and phone that needed fixing, but nothing major. Motel was close to everything and staff at the desk were friendly and accommodating. Spa in the room was nice too.

Comfortable Rooms

I don’t think the bad reviews are fair! The beds are very comfy, the shower is great, the kitchenette is fully equipped, the hot tub is amazing, the towels are plush and fluffy, and the staff are so helpful and friendly! They provided us with a map and showed us where to go to eat, provided us with fresh milk upon check in and a block of chocolate upon check out! 
Sure it’s dated, but who cares. It’s clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. 
The only downside was our neighbours, we had smokers who chose to sit right outside our door so we couldn’t have it or the windows opened at all on one side, and a snorer who talked really late on the phone on the other side. So the walls are very thin! But things like this can’t be helped. The wifi was the best we’ve had the entire week we’ve been in New Zealand too. I would definitely stay here again! :)

Three night stay 

Dirty and smelly. Poor service, rude staff. There are plenty places in Rotorua, similar location , much nicer and not a scam like this place. I have been in Rotorua many times. Any other place will be better.

Dirty and smelly

Do not stay here.  I wish I had read the reviews on here before booking with Malone’s.  The room was dirty and smelly, towels stunk like they hadn’t been washed in weeks cigarette butts littered the spa area and to top it off we were charged a unjustified fee of $129 for apparently smoking in the room - neither my partner or I smoke . When we tried to discuss this with the staff we were accused of being liars.  This place is a complete rip off as other trip advisor reviews state.   If business is so bad Malone’s - perhaps you should work on improving your standards rather than stealing money from your guests.
