While this is a lovely house with pleasant hosts it does not live up to its brochure and marketing hype. The room was nice and the bathroom miniscule. The biggest disappointment was breakfast. A self service effort in a large barren room with large bare round wooden tables. Cheap boxed cereals, tinned peaches, yogurt and a bowl of grapes and bananas plus brown or white standard sandwich bread does not make for a luxury b and b. After 3 weeks of staying in luxury b and bs around the north island this was the least satisfactory.

Could not thank the owners enough. Perfect location, lovely owners, could not do enough for you. Celebrated friends wedding and it could not have been better. Spent two nights here, rooms were great, very comfortable, clean, tidy with plenty of space. 

Great owners, great estate!

We travelled around the mountain taking the scenic route, well worth it. The B&B was wonderful, welcoming cup of tea, very comfortable bed, fabulous bath_ if Lotto comes our way a destination to shout the family for a weekend getaway. Be aware you need to find house by sight the satilitte  directions stop 1.5km the place is 2.77 hence look for no. 277.

Fabulous treat to an area we hadn't visited

This B&B was a real delight.  It was a bit hard to find without GPS (it is out of town on a hobby farm with gorgeous views to the sea), but once we had arrived we had no sooner brought our bags in when we were invited to have afternoon tea with the hosts. They were very gracious and made us feel so welcome.  We had a lovely long discussion before driving to Inglewood for dinner - this drive was only about 10 minutes.

The room which has its own ensuite bathroom was nicely decorated with plenty of wardrobe space, very comfortable bed and very warm.  A nice continental breakfast was also served. The only negative was that there was not any wifi or iron in the room.

I would strongly recommend this residence for any stay.

Great hospitality

We had originally planned to stay here for two or three nights but our trip had to be modified and we could only allow one night here, which was unfortunate because it is a lovely place to stay with beautiful visas - very peaceful.

The hosts were very welcoming offering us much needed refreshments on our arrival after a long drive. The house is amazing, all built by the owner, with a lot of the furniture also made by him from trees that had fallen on his property - a very resourceful gentleman. 

Our room was a good size, very clean and tastefully decorated. It wasn't prefect in that the room was very warm, opening the windows just invited every insect in the area to fly towards the room lights so we had to keep the window shut until we retired for the night and turned the lights out. I should add the owners do have fans available but it was too late for us to ask them when we returned from having dinner.

Breakfast was provided and was basic but adequate, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit and toast. I should also mention that although tea & coffee making facilities aren't available in the rooms, there is a good selection of beverages in the breakfast room for visitors to enjoy.

Overall a very enjoyable place to stay and we would certainly return and for a longer period if we ever come back to this beautiful part of the North Island.
