Tiny room , very dirty. There was no fan or air conditioning the only air ventilation was a window that hardly opened and the room stunk like it had not been aired out for a long time. No sheets on bed,i had to wear jandles in the shower as it was fithy and there was black hair all over the floor. The toilet seat was broken, i would not stay here or recommend to freinds and family.

Horror hotel

The place was unwelcoming, service was shocking and the hygiene was disgusting to say the least ! 

Hair from previous guests left all over the bathroom and in the sink, the bathroom floor turned a white bath mat brown. 

It stunk of wet garbage and the carpets were all patched with stains. 

Paper thin walls made it impossible to sleep, you can hear the movements of every other guest around you and everyone walking up the stairs.

I do not recommend !  Stay else where

Sleeping in my car ended up more appealing

Very misleading room wasn't exactly what was pictured in the pics. Very poor ventilation shared bathrooms was awkward and far to close for comfort literally could here them take their business and having their business arrgh lack of coffee complementary as advertised. Bed mattress was lumpy. Wasnt offered free WiFi which was supposed to be included.  Beyond budget just pure ridiculous you defiantly get what you pay for.. grateful for a place to rest my head. Room 14 desperately needs attention.

Desperate need of tlc

thanks to your uncomfortable  roll together beds, we had to sleep top in tail and I have had bad pain since, we both had hardly any sleep due to it being so uncomfortable and considered putting the mattress on the floor and tipping the base up against the wall to save our backs but reconsidered after shining a light under the bed with crumbs etc under there. When I came back from the weekend I expressed on facebook how disappointed and ripped off we felt after paying $230 for two nights to share a dirty mouldy bathroom and have  unclean kitchen/room with a dodgy loose kitchen tap that my partner had to try fix under the sink. my friend said he also stayed here recently and said the bed was so bad that he got up at 2 in the morning and left to sleep in his car on the foreshore, we wanted to leave on the second night but my partner had been drinking and I was so tired and had headaches due to the lack of sleep from the  previous night, we had no choice to stick it out for one more night and the trip back to hawkes bay was bad with me almost spewing up on the way home as my back was out and I had a headache I couldn't shake from sleeping in there bed. drinking cups were dirty/greasy, one fork for two people, dirt wine glasses, the oven roasting dish in the oven was full of fat, no dishcloth, one fork, no teatowel, no flannels or bath mat, I understand that backpackers may not provide those types of things but you call yourself a motel  ffs. its worse than a backpackers, the base packbackers in town were cleaner. you advertise that you have a spa outside but no one can use it, have heard its full of rubbish, junky outside of building, to tight carparks that you cant get into or around the building if you have a bigger car than a mini, so we had to park on the grass near the road but we were supposed to get a carpark for two nights but someone was already in it when we turned up on the Friday, the  list goes on. a receptionist with no people skills, no wonder why you hide behind that grate thing. we complained upon leaving and said we think you gave us the wrong room as we were meant to be in a deluxe room, but she said that was the deluxe room, I would hate to know what the budget rooms are like. we told her in front of other customers that they are dirty and will never be back and its the worst place we have ever stayed at. this place needs a health inspector to come around and shut them down. should of read the reviews before booking, they don't deserve to be on booking.com

Do not do it to yourself - you will regret it.

How this place has a 2.0 average is beyond me. I have never been in a worse hotel and I have been everywhere. I got into the room about 7pm at night after a few beers and even those beers could not save the receptionist/room/filth or anything else. What topped it off was the smell of the shared toilet  - even though there was no one in the other room. Horrific - I lasted an hour then managed to book another hotel - did not mind forfeiting the money.
