  The location was right outside town, very pretty with a nice backyard. There’s also a washer and dryer and a clothesline, our clothes dried in five minutes. It was just my husband and I but this was really a house not an apartment with four bedrooms I believe and two or three bathrooms. I was a little disappointed even though they put some miscellaneous food in the refrigerator -jar of peaches, some white bread in freezer, dry cereal And other items that were non perishable.  I was disappointed that it didn’t come with a breakfast per se.  It’s about a five minute drive if that from the main Lodge so it would’ve been nice if they came with a basket of fresh breads and muffins or even eggs. They could’ve left it outside the door in the morning.   For a large family it would be perfect. But for my husband and I it was a little awkard. The house was spotless, beds comfortable and furnishing more than adequate. 

Stayed at the nearby apartment/house

We stayed in this beautiful B&B in January, our host Dawn was extremely helpful.  Our suite was very comfortable and the breakfast and treat in the room were both delicious.  Ifwe ever return to Te Anau, we would definitely want stay there again.
Highlight was the helicopter landing in the garden whilst we were having breakfast,  unfortunately not for us!!

Luxurious

Great location, stunning views,  beautiful room, outstanding breakfast, nothing too much trouble - organised dinner reservations and anything else we needed. Probably the best B&B we have ever stayed in.

Best B&B ever

We only stayed the one night at Dock Bay Lodge on the way to Doubtful Sound.  We wish we could have stayed longer.  
A very luxurious BandB about 10 minutes outside of Te Anau.  
The bedroom was large with a comfortable bed, big bathroom and a private sitting area.
The host was extremely helpful and friendly and the cooked breakfast was very good.
We highly recommend this BandB.

An extremely impressive BandB

Hubby and I spent 2 nights here and I thought it was wonderful. Situated 5 minutes out of town but easy to find. Our suite of rooms had dual aspects and was super spacious and our lovely big bed was very comfortable indeed. All mini bar contents including a bottle of wine of your choice are complimentary which was a unique and lovely touch, as were some little cakes provided each evening for those with a sweet tooth!

Extensive breakfast choices and everything was fresh and tasty. And with superb views from the dining table overlooking the beautiful garden and the lake, it felt quite a privilege.....

Dawn was just lovely. After a day’s travelling it was just the best news to hear on arrival that she had made a dinner reservation for us at the best restaurant in town. So thoughtful. And when the transport arrangements fell through for getting into town for our trip to Milford Sound ( which was lovely by the way) she immediately offered to drop us in herself. And even provided bug spray when we had none. Simply above and beyond!

Simply Superb!

Outstanding 

We stayed couple of nights in this fabulous lodge. You have everything at your disposal. Nice views across golf course and Lake Te anau. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast and hospitality is great. You can even have your helicopter land in the garden. 

Fabulous spot

Although we have stayed in many hotels, lodges and B&B nothing compares to the Dock Bay Lodge. Not only the location, the room but especially the personal service you get from Dawn the owner is just amazing.
Nothing is too much, arranging trips, bookings for dinner till giving real practical tips for your excursions

Best ever and incredible service

If I could give Dock Bay Lodge a six-star rating I would.  The lodge itself is beautifully decorated.  The gardens surrounding the house are breathtaking. The view is spectacular!  

All of this combined with the lovely hostess, Dawn, made for a wonderful experience. Upon arrival Dawn sat with us, reviewed our needs and made a reservation for us at the best restaurant in town.  There were free drinks, including wine, and fresh baking available in our room.  The large and varied breakfast offered was delicious.

I can’t recommend this accommodation highly enough.



Six Stars!

Of our 31 day trip to NZ my husband and I agreed this was the best accommodation we stayed at for the following reasons. Our room was so spacious with a private living room attached which we appreciated after a lot of single rooms. The bathroom was beautiful, spacious and had plenty of vanity space and a great shower, the bed was super comfortable, we had beautiful views on 3 sides and 2 balconies with chairs, lots of attention to detail and lots of extras included drink and food wise (although didn't use them all), great choice for breakfast with terrific service and high quality food, lovely helpful host - Mark(doing it on his own while we were there). 
Is it expensive? Yes Would we stay again? - Yes It was so tranquil with gorgeous views I would have liked to spend longer just in the grounds here. Thought it a great place to just " chill". The golf course in front looked very inviting also. Spoil yoursel on this stay!
