Great location and outlook (if you book a lake view). Only 10mins walk to town/amenities.
Has adequate kitchen facilities/appliances etc.
Heating works fine and quickly, enhanced with centrally controlled underfloor heating for all apartments.
Has tv with reasonable channel options but no satellite channels.
Would benefit from sheer curtains so you can enjoy light and view with some privacy.
Friendly and helpful staff, plenty of parking space

A Room with a View

This was a very clean, spacious, and comfortable place to stay.  Staff were friendly and accommodating.  I would have no hesitation in recommending this as a good place to visit.  We stayed as a starting point for our day trip to Doubtful Sound.

Clean and welcoming 

We had a lovely two night stay in an upstairs apartment with great views of the lake. The unit was warm and clean with lots of towels in the bathroom and very comfortable beds.  Kitchenette, lounge and dining areas were satisfactory but would have been very crowded for 5.

The one negative was the wifi. I  didn't realise the wifi  would drop out and that you had to keep logging in each time - my husband realised this on the second night. So I was using mobile data rather than wifi.

Nice stay at these apartments 

This is a fairly standard motel apartment. Comfortable beds.
There are tables and chairs outside on the front lawn where you can relax and take in the beautiful view of the lake.
It's also a short walk to Jonny Cooks where you can get a very tasty dinner.

Good lake views

A nice apartment with a lovely view of the Lake with generally good amenities. About 10 minutes walk into town.
But there were no small tables for drinks and no heater or heated towel rails in the bathroom. The only heater for the entire apartment was in the kitchen/sitting are.
We enoyed our 2 night stay, though it was the most expensive motel in our three months travels in NZ

Lovely view and comfortable apartment, but with some minor issues needing attention

This was a great place to stay for 2 nights with kids. We were in a 2 bed apartment on the ground floor. The views were beautiful looking directly out to the lake. The front gardens were beautiful with tables and chairs right outside the apartment to use. The kids loved having the space to run and enjoyed the trampoline to use as well. Plenty of on-site parking and kitchen utensils to self cater. Beds were comfy and the apartment was very clean. The wifi was patchy. It’s an easy walk to town alongside the lake - a great stay!

Views of the lake and an easy walk to town

The motel is in a great location with views directly across the lake to the mountains beyond. The front gardens are immaculate, with a wide variety of flowers and plants. We received a friendly welcome at reception.

We booked a ground floor King studio with lake view. It was a lovely room, with a well equipped kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet. It was well decorated and maintained. The bed was comfortable. The room was a good temperature, and on the one evening it became a bit chilly the heater warmed it very quickly. We had a table and chairs on the little patio outside our room.

There are nice walks in both directions along the lake side. It’s only 10 minutes or so walk to the village centre with a good choice of restaurants/bars/cafes/shops and two supermarkets.

We had booked a Milford Sound tour with Trips and Tramps, and they picked us up right outside the door.

There is a bird sanctuary just a five minute drive away (no admission charge but you can make a donation).

We were very happy with our choice of accommodation and if we ever make it back to Te Anau would stay there again.

Great choice! We’d definitely stay here again

We spent two nights here as part of an organised cycle tour (Around the Mountain). We were stoked to be dropped off here after having cycled 50km + from Walter Peak station.

The motel is situated right on the waterfront and truely lives up to its name. The unit we stayed in was on the ground floor and the gardens out our front door were stunning. The unit itself was very clean and tidy and had all that you needed for a couple of days or longer (I’d happily still be there). You could comfortably cook in these facilities or there are any number of restaurants just a short walk away.

The staff are friendly and there is a wee garage where you can store bikes and that sort of gear should you need to. All in all it’s a lovely place to stay.

Terrific accomodation in Te Anau

Really, really great experience for the price. We chose a lakeside room and it was a lovely view. The room was clean and spacious, with all the utensils needed in the kitchen, and a nice, easy walk into town for anything and everything we needed. The only negative was the wi-fi, which was extremely unreliable.

Two thumbs up

Good location. Lake view. Beautiful in the early morning. Feels good to walk by the lake. Hotel is clean. Warm floor at the bathroom. Clean kitchen. We arrive late and couldn’t see the entrance driveway. Not light on and no sign .
