To be a motor Hotel just on the side of the road it present extremely high hospitality, nice rooms and very good food. 

Food well done and tasty wine and beer reasonable  for the restaurant. Strongly recommend place for a stay if you plan to visit the nearby caves.

Worth to select

The rooms are ok. They are clean but there is NOT internet connection.  It is available only in the lobby. Rooms are just facing the road, so if you are sensitive to noise you might reconsider your choice.

No internet in the rooms

If you are looking for somewhere to stay after your Waitomo caving experience, the Caves Motor Inn offers clean apartments at a  great price.  The staff were friendly and the double room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and very good value for money.  Just a short distance away from Waitomo Caves with restaurant and bar facilities onsite.

Good Value Accommodation

The owners were very friendly. The hotel has a bit of a older decor but was clean and the bed was comfortable. I also appreciated that they provided wine glasses, plates, silverware in the mini fridge. The hotel was certainly fine for our purposes but we would have appreciated if they had a true wheelchair accessible room. 

Nice hospitality

Booked a two night stay at this facility. The room was clean and comfortable. There is road noise but that did not bother me. What I enjoyed was the personal service in the restaurant and very tasty food. Highly recommend. 

Bunk in the king country

We just spent two nights at the Caves Motor Inn and found it to be a good choice when visiting Waitomo.  The woman at Reception was lovely and very helpful, the room was spacious with a fridge, kettle, coffee and tea.  Yes, the road was noisy in the day time, but we had no trouble sleeping at night, and did not need the supplied ear plugs. It was pleasant sitting out on the small balcony.  We were surprised by the lack of internet (apparently very sporadic and on a pay for use basis), but still consider our stay to be very positive.

Good proximity to Waitomo Caves.

We stayed in the "lodge" as we were traveling with 2 other adults.  It would have slept 7 easily, the beds were comfortable, the place was immaculately clean, the toilet was separate from the bathroom, and was large with a mirror and basin.  We would have liked a coffee table in the lounge, as there was only a bench to eat at in the kitchen.  A great place to stay when travelling with a family or other adults.

Our one night stay with family

This was really easy accommodation to get to, after a big day at the caves. Spacious family studio for 4. At the end of the day to go up stairs to a restaurant and have lovely home cooked meals, and a cold drink just topped it off nicely

Handy Accommodation from The Waitomo Caves

She is not a young complex and she is not the most modern but it was friendly, buzzing on a Thursday night and very welcoming. great rooms with balconies, long hot showers, plenty of parking and great rural views. yes it is alongside the highway but the thoughtfully supplied ear plugs were not needed. the lounge was great, the wine pour generous and the ice-cream Sunday made for my 5 year old was a tremendous hit!  we were at the caves early int eh morning and they even provided a hand drawn map to the locations I needed to find.
