This was an excellent find.  Beautiful cabins that had all the amenities.  Beautiful grounds and a nice walk on the property down by the river.  Staff was very pleasant.  The cabin was spotless and the bed and linens were excellent. Have breakfast at the tackle shop on the property.  It was very good.  Wish we could have stayed longer

Highly recommend

First stayed here in 2012 with spouse, and returned this year on a fly fishing trip. Executive suite was perfect, with full kitchen and spotless housekeeping.  King bed was very comfortable, and managers were helpful.

Excellent Return stay

This is a gem with clean spacious rooms, excellent kitchen facilities & beautiful surroundings. Barbecues & outdoor furniture are set under large trees. It’s a short walk to the river trail which can be walked or ridden. 

A one night stay is not enough to enjoy this lodge

You are accommodated in an individual chalet with outdoor seating area in lovely tree-lined gardens with access to the river with its beautiful walkway. The only thing to disturb the peace is the tweeting of the many birds. Our chalet (no 2)  was one of the oldest of the 19 on the park and the fittings were a little dated but it contained everything you need and was spotlessly clean. A convenient gateway to the Tongariro National Park, and Turangi town has some local shops and restaurants. We had excellent quality breakfasts both days at the Creel Lodge cafe onsite.

A stay to remember in a fishing lodge in a beautiful setting

Beautiful gardens, great access to the river & walking track. Our cabin had everything that you could need for a few nights stay. Free WiFi and access to Netflix, this was great on a rainy afternoon.The heating was excellent, bed was comfortable & great water pressure in the shower,plenty of hot water, excellent laundry facilities ,we had fresh towels dropped in each day.

Beautiful setting

Love this place. A hidden gem that I have found only recently.  High standard, set in beautiful gardens, quiet, close to river and walkway, fantastic facilities,   own outdoor deck,  good parking, great tariff

One of the best

I stayed at Creel Lodge on route to a 2 week holiday in the Manawatu. The Creel Lodge is set back from the main road amongst beautiful gardens. The room was well detailed with a very efficient heat pump and a comfortable bed. The lodge is located right on the banks of the Tongariro River and it was great for a easy paced walk. The staff were very friendly in both the lodge and the cafe next door. A great place to chill out and highly recommended.

Lovely setting

Great place to stay in Turangi. Tranquil location, magnificent gardens, rooms are comfortable, spacious and super clean. Nice little cafe on site. Short walk to town centre. You couldnt find a better place.

This place is truly fabulous

This hotel is on a gorgeous property with a beautiful garden, and right next to the River and Trail. We were surprised at how pretty it was there. The room was great, it had a kettle, a plunger, a microwave and a fridge. Comfortable bed and very clean. The shower was very hot - probably have to be a little careful with that. You can walk to the centre of town from the property.  There was also a cafe on site that served nice coffee and breakfast.

Great location, beautiful property

WOW. This is such a beautiful, serene Motel hidden away amongst big trees and stunning gardens. Spotless unit and very comfortable. Felt just like we belonged. The cycle/walking trails and river can be accessed at the bottom of the garden. We will be back to stay and ride the trails. This is now our go to place to stay in Turangi.
