3 mins drive north of Thames, driving along the coast road by the water.
Great quiet spot, great for the fisherman, and for a family. Well appointed rooms.

Unspoilt paradise

Excellent stay.  Great units spacious .own balcony . 
Stairs  to unit bit of a struggle if elderly but we  coped ! 
   Lovely spacious grounds where we sat under big tree for happy hour with our friends also staying .
    Everybody loved the location  busy road but that was not a problem  .
    Very nice owner and  helpful  nothing too much trouble 
 Definitely stay again and recommend to everyone,
 

Excellent 

Myself and three children stayed here last weekend. The rooms were spotless, kitchen functional and featured many little extras like wafers, plunger coffee (most appreciated) and body wash. The highlight for the kids was having SKY and free wifi. Walking across the road to the sea and being visited the next morning by the pheasant were added bonuses. Thank you for a lovely stay ( and allowing us to check in early - it was most appreciated by the very tired Mum).

Fantastic Stay

Really can't recommend this motel highly enough.  The owners are very professional and friendly, great welcome, I can't praise them enough, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean, fittings of a high standard, nothing is worn out or missing.   We had the sea view studio and found them to be of a good size with plenty of living space, good size kitchen, and a big comfortable bed.  You can actually see the sea from the room and the deck.
This is somewhere I will certainly go back to as could not fault one thing.

Great Stay at a friendly Motel

What a gorgeous motor lodge,  excellent waterfront location, beautiful room, so perfect  for the three of us.
The rooms were so clean and loved the crispy white sheets on the bed.  Well appointed with self catering equipment, couldn't fault it.  Thanks you Coastal Motor Lodge and owner, we loved our stay with you.

Fabulous stay at Coastal Motor Lodge

We were traveling from Auckland to visit the Coromandel Peninsula.  The hotel is a short distance outside Thames on the way to Coromandel Town.  The owner is very friendly.  The room is nice, clean and has a comfortable kingsize bed. The hotel is across the road from the water with a great view. It was a good base for exploring the peninsula.

Two night stay

With only 3km up the coast out of Thames and stunning views of the Firth - I totally recommend staying here.  Sunsets from your deck at night were smashing.

We stayed for 5 nights in one of the Chalets.  We were a family of 3 and it was perfect for us.  It has a small desk area and a one seat kitchen bar as well as a couch and the double and single bed. The double bed is seperated by a half wall from the lounge area.  Also a separate bathroom and separate kitchen.

While no cooking facilities within the unit (aside from the microwave) the kitchen is well appointed and I took the opportunity as Mum not too cook (yay).  There is a communal BBQ that we only saw used once over our 5 nights so take advantage of the BBQ area if you want to save funds and cook.

Family Holiday

Pretty entry into the Motel, lovely surrounds and friendly reception staff. Spacious cabin 2.Q & 2S. Quiet, clean, free wifi, and lovely little biscuits and coffee/ tea to come to. Comfortable beds. Perfect for us on our family road trip

Coastal Motor Lodge - had last rooms to spare, fully booked-up elsewhere around the area. Picture-postcard seaviews, great location, free carpark right outside chalet.  Swim, sit & read under dappled tree in garden, watch the sunset; serene. (I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), wear a legbrace.) Airy, spacious, we had all we needed - we extended our chalet stay; superb staff, efficient service - simply excellent!

Finally found a motel in Thames that is nice. Good location. Great bed and pillows, very clean. Easy parking and only three minutes from town . Across the road from the beach. The only down sides were, the room heater didn’t work and it was very cold night, luckily the motel sitter found a portable heater that solved the problem. There was also an uncomfortable toilet seat that did not fit the toilet in our room. Minor things. We will definitely be back now that we do not have to stay in old , smelly run down accommodation.
