location is not 5min walk to town, closer to 15mins, I've no problem with a 15min walk but I do have a problem with the false advertising. We paid $640 for two nights - the apartment is nice, however for that money I'd expect more than one towel for each quest for entire stay, more than two coffee capsules (in total), and a rubbish shower head (no rain shower head here!)  You could stay much closer to the town, much better lake views and be supporting a business who appreciates your custom and hard earnt money.  If you do decide to stay at Tenby Apartments make sure the house next door to apartment 4 has completed it's construction work unless you are ok with building noise at 8am and painters hanging off scaffolding practically on your deck.  If you book direct with Tenby / Wanaka Lodge just check their advertised price includes cleaning - and how often the apartment will be cleaned - when I queried their advertised rate of $235 I was told +$75 cleaning fee for each night ....  
I approached Wanaka Lodge after booking via HomeAway and realising the rate was cheaper had I booked with Wanaka Lodge - their response "if you have an issue it isn't with us ..." fair point however end of the day same property and disappointing experience.  Seriously, your money will go further staying elsewhere - especially during this pandemic where accommodation providers/tourism want your custom.   Service was rubbish, accommodation nice but over priced and not central.

not value for money

Only one towel per person for 3 nights Queried this with lady on checkout who said this was standard and she couldn't understand my issue. I found this response disrespectful. We did not book "standard" accommodation- this was $330 a night and deserved more than one towel each! Every other place we stay at has ample towels... It's also not a green solution when you have to use washing machine for one towel..... 

We had to ring up because the iron was missing.....then we found there was actually no ironing board either (if only we had a towel.....)

I think the owners need to understand that scrimping on what is otherwise a lovely apartment will not pay in the end..  I'm not one for doing reviews unless I am angry - many others will be silent and with their feet.

I await a response - but dont want to be robbed off with spin or empty apologies ..... looking at the other reviews this was promised it would not happen again.

I may correct this with another review - but not if I get a condescending response like I recieved on checkout

We and our business partners will not be staying there again.

Disappointing service ruined it for us

We loved our family (2 adults, 2 kids) stay at Tenby. We used it as our base to explore Wanka and ski at Cardrona for five days. The apartments are about a 10 minute walk into town and a two minute drive. It’s about 45 minutes to the top of the mountain for a cautious driver. 

We stayed in 4 - which is a lower floor apartment. Some views over the fence but I imagine the higher floor view over Lake Wanaka would be stunning. The apartment did have a small lawn and outside space is always a winner when you are travelling with kids. There was also a bbq but it was a bit too chilly for us to try it. 

The kitchen is fully equipped (aside from a corkscrew) and we prepared and ate most meals at home after grocery shopping at the nearby New World. 

The rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms (there is one adjoining each bedroom) in particular a high standard. There is heating throughout the house and we were always toasty warm.

I don’t believe we paid anything for wireless. 

We didn’t expect the rooms to be serviced - after all this is an apartment - not a hotel. It was quite enjoyable to feel like we had a “home” rather than a “room”. There is a shared laundry with washer and dryer which we found very handy. 

The shared garage was great - although it is a bit squeezy when you have two large 4wds parked side by side.

Clean, warm, spacious apartment - good for families

We went to tenby in June this year and stayed in ein lie apartment which was beautifully situated in the centre of tenby a lovely well thought out flat however in the event one of our party was disabled and it was not mentioned in the information that 14 steps down to the bedrooms in the basememt that however was the only drawback

We booked to stay in the main accommodation house. When we arrived at Wanaka we were told we were upgraded to the Tenby apartments.  We were told all the instructions for staying in the apartment were listed in the apartment. My husband asked about the WiFi and was told the instructions were in the apartment.  We arrived and we were initially impressed with what we saw.   The apartment was cold so I turned on the heat pump. I could only get the heat pump to work on cold.  I tried to connect to WiFi but quickly found out that we had to pay $10/day. I refuse to pay for WiFi when we booked a room  that supplied free WiFi. I think if they upgrade you to another location the owners should honour the WiFi.  We weren't told that there was a laundry in the garage or that we could park the car in the garage.  We had noisy neighbours who would keep scraping their chairs over the tiled floors, and woke us at 5am by slamming doors and yelling and scraping chairs on floors.  The curtains need to be rehung and the windows need to be washed.  To make the most of the views the trees need to be topped. 
If the owners attended to the issues people have pointed out in the reviews, the Tenby apartments will be a very enjoyable stay.


Disappointed 

On paper this look like a very lovely apartment, which it does seem, however its all the hidden things they forget to mention or try to charge extra for that really lets this place down. So I'm writing the review to warn other travers who may full for the same misleading information when booking; firstly the 'Included Wifi/broadband' is not so much included it is a extra $10 a DAY, which we did question them on, as the website we booked on has a 'extra charge sections, which the wifi was not listed on'. and they said this was their policy. 
Following this please do not expect any clean bed linen, as they informed us that we have to clean the bed line ourselves and did not provide and spares, not really what we had in mind or time for when on holiday, so it does not matter if you stay 5 or 10 days, as you do not get  any preferential treatment, in hindsight i would have split the stay. and just one towel which is expected to be washed and dried overtime you need to use it. 

The over attitude from the staff also let this stay down, it was as though we were at fault for expecting what seems like basic requirements. For these reasons the over question is would i stay here again? and simply No I would not, I would prefer to stay somewhere more honest where hidden chargers and misleading information if not something you need to worry about.

The things they forget to tell you

My partner and I stayed in a one bedroom Tenby apartment.  The apartments are fairly new,  neatly laid out,  clean and comfy.  The views are stunning and comes with a great little balcony with BBQ and table and chairs for entertaining in the warmer months.  However,  we were somewhat misled by the ad that stated "fully equipped kitchen". The one bedroom apartment did not have an oven (microwave and bench top stove only),  had only a small bar fridge without a freezer and no dishwasher.  We bought a knife because the ones provided weren't sharp.  Also,  as we had stayed for two weeks we assumed that at the very least we would have our towels and sheets changed at least once however they werent.  The laundry and garage were shared which wasn't a problem for us.  The remote control for the TV was partly broken. The shower was excellent and came with heated towel rails and there was also a shared drying room for ski gear. The apartment is conviently located just a 7min walk into town. While it was pretty spacious for a one bedroom apartment and it was lovely and warm at night,  we were expecting just a little more.
