We stayed here for a couple of nights escape! 
I was a little apprehensive when the finer print on the gate, under Kaimai Country Lodge, says bed & breakfast, I don't stay in B&Bs. 
Though the stay with Sandy and Peter hasn't changed my position on B&Bs, I was suitably impressed with this lodge-B&B. 
Luckily/ fortunately we were the only guests, which made it less B&B lodge and more homestay/lodge. S&P are very welcoming chatty, and professional, hosts who made us feel special, without being stifling. 
The Lodge is is beautifully appointed and furnished - the art and antiquities adding a neat edge. The grounds, backdrop of the Kaimais and outlook to The Mount are beautiful.
The (matakana?) room was spacious and cozy at the same time. Huge comfy bed, lots of squishy whilst firm pillows. Alas the french doors and a small deck off the bedroom didnt get much use. 
Clean, new bathroom, wonderful hot, powerful shower. No single use bathroom products, all shower gels and shampoos etc in big bottles. (Liked the supply of nail varnish remover in the cabinet!) 
The lounge area, with log burner and HUGE (stupidly huge) TV - has well stocked book cases and games. The only downfall of the whole experience is the wifi is token based. 
We eat dinner out (we 100% recommend the Talisman pub and the fish and chipper) but enjoyed the breakfast part of the B&B affair. Multiple courses, and multiple choices. All fresh, (backgarden) local and quite leisurely.
We left as though longtime friends! Thanks S&P.
Would wholeheartedly recommend, and would return (even though its a B&B)!

Beyond your average B&B !

We stopped off for a couple of days on our tour of North Island and if he hadn't booked on ahead for this trip, we would have been very happy to stay longer. Beautiful settings , luxurious accommodation and great food !  Lots to do and see in this area and Peter and Sandy made us feel that we were special guests ! We were sorry to leave and if we return to NZ, we may well make this our "base camp" because it is so peaceful, comfortable and easy to travel from. Peter and Sandy are very knowledgeable about the area and NZ /Australasia in general and were very generous with their time helping us to get the best from the area.

The Host and Hostess were just so welcoming as were the grounds and view was picture perfect everything was just perfect cant say anything but delightful, would recommend this Lodge to anyone Thank you Sandy and Peter

Excellent  !!!!!Perfect

I booked this for myself and hubby for his birthday. We are in our late 30’s and early 40’s!!We had the matakana suite which was the best view I think. We slept with curtains open looking out to the mount and ocean . 
Extremely clean. Lots of little extras that were very meaningful. 
We arrived and were warmly welcomed .
Very well equiped room with lots of added touches. 
We found Peter and sandy very professional as they had the ability to be helpful, cheerful , chatty and warm but also courteous and left us in peace to soak up the wonderful room , views , garden and ambience of the lodge. 

Dinner at talisman hotel katikati, gorgeous food wine and staff. Couple Mins drive.

Breakfast was again at a time that suited US , and was of restaurant standard, fresh, seasonal and plentiful but at the same time like a home cooked meal 😀

At the lodge , by sandy and Peter I feel like we were treated like old friends or cherished family, however reading the reviews I think they manage to make everyone feel like this .

Honestly perfect!

This establishment is a joy stay in, Sandy and Peter are the perfect hosts and the accommodation is delightful.  Im sure it has a wonderful view but we were there in the pouring rain however that did not detract from the ambience of the place.  Sandy presents her food in the style any top restaurant would envy.  they have all the amenities and information any discerning traveller would require.and easily the best B & B we have stayed in for a long while.  Could not recommend a stay here any higher, its perfect.

Come to Kaimai Country Lodge

This is a superb B&B, easily the best that we encountered on our 3 week trip round North Island. Peter and Sandy are exceptional hosts, making us feel very welcome, and providing accommodation of the highest quality. Our room was beautifully furnished, and immaculately clean, with our own patio, and great views out to the coast. Breakfast included fresh fruit, full cooked breakfast, croissants, and pastries. Highly recommended, we would definitely come back!

Sandy and Peter were such lovely hosts!

Although the house is very nice, very neat and clean, the room is very comfortable and the terrace a lovely place to sit and relax, the Kaimai Country Lodge is a beautiful experience mostly thanks or because of Sandy and Peter. 

Breakfast is mouthwatering, enjoying the view of the Bay of Plenty under the sun.

Delightful!

This hilltop luxury lodge hideaway is close to historic Katikati and short drive to Mount Maunganui/Tauranga. Our great hosts, luxurious accommodation, tasty breakfasts and beautiful views of the coastline are highly recommended. There are many interesting places to visit in the area including Katikati and Waihi Beach.

History and Views

I slept through a 5.9 Earthquake -that tells you how comfortable the bed was!  A lovely place where the owners have taken great care in the detail of the overall presentation. Yet it is not fussy. 
Sandy and Peter are great hosts and you just naturally relax into the  beautiful  surroundings. 
Breakfast  was excellent!  Our only regret is that we were only doing  a one night stop over. This was a highlight and we wish we could have extended our time here

Wonderful experience! 

Stunning and perfectly wonderful. We wish we could have stayed longer! The hosts were absolutely lovely people who made us feel immediately welcome. Their knowledge and recommendations of the surrounding area were much appreciated-- they are privy to all the best spots and we were so grateful for it. The lodgings were an ideal distance away from town, allowing us to enjoy a bit of separation from traffic and a busier lifestyle. The room was incredibly comfortable and clean-- how we miss it already!

We'd highly recommend this stay to others, and hope you have the opportunity to enjoy it!
