Front desk will give a price deal, but at check out they want to charge you more money for your stay, if you coming from USA, they want to rip you off, because they think you are rich, no credit card accepted like they supposedly say in the website. I booked with booking.com and they don't even knew anything about it, they gave my room to someone else. Please don't stay there, the owner is a gold digger. The sink is really nasty. The shower has a lot cables hanging to the water lines and looks really unsecured for your life, and I was really afraid to get electrocuted. The dollar cost they want to pay you really cheap.

Never going back, I wouldn't recommend to friends and family.

Accommodations are very limited in Diriamba, which is how we ended up at Tortuga Verde one night in November 2013.  The room was clean and adequate, and the breakfast was good although we had to wait a while for it. The staff was laid back. The gardens were amazing, but the chained up monkey with no source of water in sight was sad. The location isn't great unless you have your own vehicle - it is not easy to get a taxi or pod outside the gate.

Green

We stayed here for a couple of nights in one of the smaller rooms, $30/night, and it was quite adequate with fan, TV, comfortable queen size bed, and hot water shower with good water pressure. The room was basic but clean, very quiet. Breakfast, $3.50, was typical Nicaraguan fare with fruit or juice, gallo pinto, eggs, toast and coffee. Roberto, the owner, speaks excellent English and is a great conversationalist. His house is decorated with local art. This is a large property with extensive, beautiful gardens built on an old coffee plantation that has been divided and developed. It is just off the highway out of Diriamba, going north on the Pan-Am toward Managua. Entryway to the property is marked by large yellow columns. Ramona, a white-faced monkey, will greet you on the way in. The property is great for a couple days of relaxation, close to town for restaurants, about a half-hour drive from the beaches at LaBoquita where you can go for fish or seafood, see a thriving fisherman's village at Casares. There is a park with a river and small waterfall about halfway to the beaches.  While the room was basic, we are rating this as 4/5 given the great value and beautiful gardens.

Heaven off the Highway

This charming "eco lodge", just outside of Diriamba, is an excellent value for the money (rooms run $30–$50 a night, US, depending on amenities). We stayed in a room with a queen-size bed, TV, and fridge, and found it perfect for a couple of nights. Note that this is a lodge, so the rooms are *not* akin to the Hilton, etc., but rather to those one would find in a nature reserve, or park. There are bugs, and the shower is not the best, and there is not free shampoo, etc. But the room has Robinson-Crusoe character and the owner (Roberto) and staff make your stay as personal as it gets (the breakfast is of typical Nicaraguan fare). Diriamba itself is within easy walking distance, but not too close, making the locale ideal.
