Hotel Las Orquideas San Ramon

Matagalpa

I stayed at Hotel y Restaurante Las Orquídeas in San Ramon for two days as I was looking around the area for property to buy. 
I found the staff and owner to be very helpful and friendly. The restaurant food was not only excellent but the portions were large.
The hotel itself is a beautiful building with very large clean rooms, which included A/C and hot water (in Nicaragua when traveling outside of the larger cities hot water is an exception). The bed was king sized and very comfortable.  My room was on the second floor and had a small (standing) balcony where I could see the city park next door. 

I will be traveling back checking on different properties from time to time and when I do I will stay here.



Very nice hotel with large rooms and great service. 

I decided to stay in San Ramon, as it is a quiet town outside of Matagalpa. I reserved a Deluxe Double room with the expectation that Deluxe meant 2 Twin or Double beds for my associate, and I. When I arrived from Ocotal, the room offered had only one double bed, and a prison like bunk bed. The owner offered to charge me 10 dollars each night for use of this platform.  After traveling through the Mountains, this was an unacceptable offer. 
Back at the front desk, I asked if there were any other rooms available for my companion. I would have been happy to pay for an additional room at this point.
Instead of offering to look through the obviously empty Hotel Reservation Book, the owner asked if I was a Hillbilly from the South of the USA! He went on to say that usually when he has a guest book a Double room they are a couple, a man and a woman. The implication that we could share the bed was too much for me. 
When I called my Business Associate in Nicaragua, to tell him we were going back to Matagalpa that night, a different room was offered. No Thank You, my Friend.
I drove back to Matagalpa, checked into a Fabulous Hotel. The Hotel in the city only charged us for 1 of the 2 nights we needed to be in town visiting with Producers. This was extraordinary service. The Staff in Matagalpa made up for the Disrespectful service in San Ramon.
We were charged a Cancellation Fee for the original Hotel upon return to the USA. No Problem. I am happy to pay, as the Respect we were shown in Matagalpa made up for the poor treatment in San Ramon.
I will stay in the City, and avoid the Hillbilly Hotel in the mountains on my next trip for Business.

Beautiful Hotel

The rooms are very comfortable, they have air conditioning and hot water, it is super clean, the food is very rich and good price, the attention is super good, the village is beautiful, without a doubt, in the area is one of the best.

Volveré... an excellent hotel!

The Hotel is beautiful, safe, and Clean.  The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable.  AC kept us cool and comfortable all night.  The service was excellent and the restaurant was impressive.  The food was fresh and organic with good variety.  We could not believe this hotel was offered at a budget price, we expected less and we were pleasantly surprised.I recommend this Hotel!

Beautiful Hotel, great service!

Just stopped by for a snack - didn't stay at the hotel, but we were struck by the beauty and cleanliness of it.  Both the interior and exterior of the hotel were quite striking, and I thought, when seeing it, that it would have been a pleasure to stay here.  The village of San Ramon was quiet and pretty, and about a 15 minute drive from Matagalpa, on a very good road.

Beautiful place

My husband, son and I had reservations for this hotel for one of our nights in Nicaragua. This is a beautiful place full of potential, but the wifi and the Air Conditioning did not work. The AC wouldn't cool the air and the wifi was substandard to be able to do anything internet wise. When talking to owner of the hotel about the AC, he was rude and condescending. On the bright side, we drove to Jinotega and found La Estancia de Don Francisco Hotel and it is amazing!!
