Ometepe Island

A great experience not to be missed in Ometepe in this late 800's house. Schedule at least two nights to see the Urracas and the monkeys up close. Don't miss two chats with Nelson, the very kind indigenous manager and don Alcide, the owner. One of the most intense experiences in Nicaragua in the most beautiful hotel in Nicaragua.

It's fabulous.

Good prices, excellent care by staff, comfortable but small rooms without a TV, close to the beach. Very rich food, excellent to come with your partner, friends or family. They let you carry your own drinks without paying anything else.

Super eaten.

This is an old original homestead from one of the early landowners here. They have a few cottages, and some rooms in the main building. Rooms in the main building are quite small, and could really use a freshening. The cottages are much nicer, and only cost a wee bit more. There is a restaurant/bar in the main building, and the food is pretty good.  I really could not figure out the billing , one time we would pay cash, no tax, the next we would get a bill from the cashier, that included the taxs? The wait staff was nice, but everyone else is not that friendly really, the cashier lady especially, who has a very short memory it seems. While we were there the weather was kind of stormy and windy, so the lake level was high and there was really no beach, but when calm, it may be nice for swimming. Not much to do here, but would be better with good weather. The power was going out all the time, and they have no generator back up. The management never even offered a candle or flashlights or anything to navigate from the cottage to the restaurant at night.I would not stay there again, there are better options nearby.

Old enough hotel - the room was clean but the bathroom floor was dirty and there was a strong smell of moisture - the bedding was right, nothing more. Simple, flowery, pleasant courtyard with the presence of capuchin monkeys at wake and sunset. Dining room: busy staff and proper meals. Village offering opportunities for beautiful pedestrian walks advertising: sandy beach, but in January the beach had disappeared due to lake level

An institution worthy of a large household

A very nice accommodation that has a lot to offer for the price and performance ratio. The room was clean and nicely designed, and the location right on the beach of the Nicaraguan lake overlooking the Maderas volcano was just brilliant. The food in the restaurant was super fresh and delicious, the fruit cocktail is also highly recommended. In the interior there are also other small restaurants to reach. The only shortcomings were the fairly short service times. This did not bother us further, but other guests were looking for a problem employee and could not find anyone. It would be desirable for such cases I would probably have a night watch or something similar. I would definitely recommend the accommodation further because of the recommendations.

Dreamy little place to stay

We booked this accommodation at the last minute through another hotel so did not have many options. We arrived at night and were shown an awful, filthy room that felt like a cave. The second room we were shown was across the street from the main accommodation and felt remotely less cave-like so we took it out of desperation. I could not sleep that night due to the mold and the heat. There is AC but it hardly works and the windows are barred and even if you wanted to open them you couldn't with the mosquitos. The beds are awful; we were all in pain the next day. The restaurant was also pretty dire. They gave us a corked bottle of overpriced wine and didn't care. I am a huge traveler and am used to staying in a wide range of accommodation (from hostels to resorts) but this was one of the worst experiences I have had. We left the next morning and didn't look back. This place is cheap but you can absolutely find better for the price.

Terrible experience/not recommended!

Very nice place the super cool attention the personal and the food a healthy family atmosphere and an excellent view of the Lake of Nicaragua. There is wifi is cheap and the rooms are comfortable with a/c and a small cable TV and the bathroom is seated has no shower, super recommended, Soy de Costa Rica.

Excellent place to stay.

The people who attend are nice, but the place is not nice, small rooms, little water in the shower, the light goes out every minute, in some rooms there is no internet because they are crossing the street.

Paseo primos is the first of its kind.

Stayed here with two friends in July. I heard it was "okay" from friends so I wasn't expecting much, and that's about what we got. The air conditioning was great and I like that the WiFi spanned most of the resort (except in our room, which was across the street). Unfortunately, most of the staff (the front desk especially) were very unfriendly and seemed very disinterested in helping customers, although the wait staff were okay. The food was average and the beach was small, although the view and location between the volcanoes was ideal and you could walk to other beaches nearby if desired. I did not like the bathroom in our suite, it was small, dirty, and strongly in need of upgrades as the wall was peeling and the shower head leaked. The room itself was small as well and the bed sheets were stained although they smelled clean. If I returned to Ometepe, I would stay at one of the many other hostels nearby before returning here.
