The manager was very helpful, upgraded us and pointed out some great places to eat. Drinks on the beach at El Timon with live music each night, and don't forget the chicken lady, a block above the mercado, and next door to her, a great fish restaurant for a third the price of the fancy beachfront properties.

Nicaragua is wonderful and the Central is Small but also wonderful.

It's a rather simple hotel, but it's very close to the bay and several bars and restaurants (Corto Maltese, Iguana's, Barrio's Café, etc.).

Excellent attention, close to the centre.

Great location to get to the center, 150 meters from the beach. They don't have a guarded car park but the car can be parked in front of the road... cleaning like this... but for a night's drive it's more than fine. Not very cheap compared to the average place.

San Juan of the South

The hotel was way overpriced for what it was. The shower didn’t work it sprayed everywhere, the tv was ancient and 8” wide and the bed barely fit the tiny room. We paid $100 a night for what was essentially a glorified Hostel.

This is more a hostel not hotel

The reception is far from warm. The 50-euro double room offers old-fashioned and sometimes dirty furniture. One wonders if the toilet towels have been washed! The owner turns on a switch to turn off the outside air when he thinks the consumption is too much. In short, it is a real scandal to pay that price for services more than mediocre. For the same price you have gorgeous hotels in Leon (another city in Nicaragua) with swimming pool.

Dirty, expensive hotel for poor benefits.

If it's not for its geographical location, this hotel is a must-flee. Defective equipment (smashed mattress, perforated sheets, rusty fridge), hygiene beyond doubt, discounted hospitality. For the asking price, go your way! (The hotel is now called Hotel Central)

Get out of here!

Come on vacation with friends and the attention and treatment is great, the facilities are super comfortable and also close to the beach and some restaurants and some entertainment venues..

Treatment is brilliant.

Staying at the Irish House was lovely, the beds and bathroom were clean, the room stayed pretty cool, and I felt safe leaving my belongings in the room while we were out and about town. We also received fresh towels and sheets every day.

A few drawbacks from my experience: 
1) Noise
We stayed in a room on the first level, which the door opens directly to the street. This caused for very loud foot and vehicular traffic noise during most of the night, and especially starting around 5am even on a weekend. If you are a light sleeper, I would suggest staying in an upper level room or bringing ear plugs. 
2) Few Amenities 
While there is AC, there isn't a pool, there is no hot water, or any sort of breakfast offerings. This was fine for our trip purposes, but to some this may be important
3) Small breaks
The remote to our small TV was barely functional. We didn't use the TV too much but it was frustrating when we wanted it. Also the AC's fan didn't blow properly which led to uneven cooling of the room. There were a few chips and cracks in the glass table tops which may be bad for toddlers or anyone especially accident prone. 
4) No Blankets
Okay, I am one of those people that NEEDS a blanket at night in addition to a sheet, so this may not affect everyone. I am aware that in many places blankets are not offered. But if you are like me, bring your own. You wont regret it. 

Regardless of all of these minor issues, I still think this place earned 4 stars. The staff was very friendly and helpful with everything. The WIFI worked quickly and consistently. They didn't seem to offer anything to us that was inconsistent with what they had, and we received basically what we understood from the get-go. I do recommend them as they are probably the cleanest place I've stayed in SJDS in this price range.

Clean Rooms, Great Price

We stayed for two nights. The hotel has large rooms so my three friends and I were together in one room without any inconvenience. The facilities are quite clean and the owners very kind. We were allowed to make a phone call. In addition, you can pay by card. However, the mattresses are a bit hard. I recommend wearing a pillow as those that are not there have a lot of foam inside. I also recommend staying in the second or third level. I hardly slept for two nights because we were in a room right across the street. I would go back, but I would try to book first.

Clean and beautiful but beautiful.

We were going to stay there for one night. The air conditioner in our room did not work and the room was very dirty. There were cockroaches and bedbugs. The management was extremely rude. We decided to leave and stay somewhere clean. We asked for our money back and they refused to give us a refund. Do yourself a favor and find a better hotel.
