We absolutely loved staying at the stunning Marmelkroken. The young woman who welcomed us and also waited table in the restaurant for dinner was by far the best we have seen in weeks of travel in Scandinavia. Exceptional service.  Dinner was excellent with reasonably priced wine. Great breakfast and super comfortable rooms.  The bird viewing here is also excellent. Watch out for the White-tailed Eagles on the cliffs and beaches north of Marmelkroken. We were lucky enough to see 4 eagles.

Excellent stay, superb service.

We had orange roughy (ur) fried on the skin side to crispy perfection, with a fresh pea purée and a lovely carrot soup. The dessert was a light yet creamy pannecotta with very lightly sweetened rhubarb- so much flavor. Good wine, available, too. The rooms are very clean and include a kitchenette, with a stunning view. The building itself is basic but with stunning surroundings. 

Really delicious food

Norwegians really love going to their cabins. This is among the few places where you really get this feeling of hospitality and privacy. We booked “Hytta” and was not disappointed.
Everything is simple and easy. Everything was easily arranged in advance and the staff just felt like friendly neighbours. View is stunning and feel at ease within minutes. We even spotted some eagles playing.
At midsummer we experienced a traditional Norwegian fire with traditional Norwegian food.

Something very Norwegian 

For my second stay at Marmelkroken I rented "Hytta", a cosy little cabin, together with a friend. Cosy furniture, well equipped kitchen, very clean and hygienic, and the view from the balcony is quite unique. Not only is the hostess warm and welcoming, she is also a marvelous cook and a culture enthusiast. She does everything in her power to help her guests enjoy the best Andøya has to offer, such as strolling along the coast end enjoying the sight of eagles and other birds, or attending one of her cultural evenings with live music.
If you are planning to visit the Vesterålen region, Andøya and Marmelkroken is an absolute must!

Warm hostess, delicious food, live music and wonderful nature

We came to Andøya to try and see whales.  Marmelkroken was a very peaceful place to use as our base.  Lisbeth was so welcoming and accommodating of our boys eating habits.  We had a lovely stay with delicious food. (and we did manage to see whales too!)

This was a rare experience! Fantastic service! 
And great food from local produce! 
The rooms are basic but well equipped with a small Kitchenette, fridge /freezer. 
Good beds and large bathroom. 
But the secret lies in the awesome view, and its location close to the sea, the only sound you hear is from rich bird life, waves of land strikes! 
We will definitely return! Thank you so much for letting us stay! 

Amazing! 

My wife and I were on a 13-day Bicycle tour of the Arctic Coast of Norway when we had the most wonderful experience at Marmelkroken! The location is spectacular, the accommodations very comfortable, and the food and service were simply the best. We were met by Lisbeth, a delightful woman who not only prepared for us what we proclaimed to be the best meal we’ve ever had—from farm fresh ingredients literally from across the street—but shared with us information about the local flora and fauna. I would recommend a stay and a meal in this quiet gem even if you have to travel out of your way!

Delightful Gem on the Arctic Coast of Norway 

Excellent hospitality,  excellent food,  excellent views ! 
It was really nice staying there, the rooms are all facing the sea with a deck in front to sit outdoors, the room was fully equipped with dry kitchenette and a wonderful heating system.

We were three, stayed there 3 nights in a hut. It's a comfortable, clean house with everything you'd need; with a great view at the ocean. The host is very friendly and welcoming. A special comment for the food served in the restaurant at the place: simply delicious, the best fish soup ever had in Norway.
