Staying with Juronn at the Flam Oppleving is more like a homestay or bed and breakfast with a guide than a hotel.  She was wonderful--meeting us at the Hareina Train Stop and driving us up the hill to her house, giving us directions to hike into Flam and to local waterfalls, then picking us up in Flam to bring us back for dinner, then driving out bags to Flam on the day we left--meeting us at the NorLed ExpressBoat pier.  Peaceful, quiet, spacious, with beautiful gardens and a working washer/dryer, good wifi, great views, and access to many trails in the Flam Valley.  Most highly recommended--book early!!!

Flam Oppleving apartments are OK. Not in the center of Flam, simple and clean.
But Fred who welcomed us was extremely friendly, informative and helpful. The breakfast based on local produce was exallent.

We came here for a couple of nights on our honeymoon. Have to admit, we were so exhausted we slept much of the time but really have to commend the owner of the apartment on the amazing job she did looking after us. She went above and beyond when we lost our boat tickets, was so friendly and told us all about Flam and the area. A real gem. The self catering nature of the apartment meant we could make our own meals which was great considering prices in Norway for food and drink. The Hareina stop is just 200 yards away from the apartment (two stops before Flam), so definitely get off there . The train into Flam then takes 5 mins or a pleasant 40 min walk. There is a coop in Flam (nearest shop) to get your provisions and the owner offered us lifts on a number of occasions. If you're staying longer there is a washing machine too. I imagine brilliant for walking as you are already out in the mountains (as I said we mainly slept). The owner also loves walking in the hills so I imagine she'd give you lots of tips. Honeymoon

Fred - the perfect host!

We loved the location and our hostess was very accommodating. The scenery was beautiful..we could see a waterfall from the property which we hiked to the next morning.  The bedroom was very small with the bed tucked into a narrow space. And we did find it way overpriced, even more than some of the hotels in Flam. 
 


Beautiful location but pricey

We booked this property as the hotel in Flam booked out. There were no taxis and we were told 10 minute walk. After we could not raise host on phone started to walk with 6 pieces of luggage. The property is in next village 6 kms from Flam and is suitable to book only if you travel by car. Host very good driving us around after we got there but after we found hotel in Flam did have vacancies  and was cheaper than this property so very disappointed. Booked thro Booking.com and asked for cash as payment even though we had given our credit card..said card machine not working!!!!
Property nice but too far our and too expensive for 1 night stay...check hotel first as have cancellations

Property no in Flam but 6 kms out

The area itself was lovely and we enjoyed being there and taking the fjord safari and hiking. However it is a huge tourist trap with all the shops and we would of appreciated spending more time elsewhere
