Not what we expected for the rating it has

Nice motel about 1 km from the center of Dombås,  1,5 km from the train station. Rooms have enough space,  small kitchen included. Very nice and friendly owner, knows a lot about muskoxen (he has been a guide for ages). Only inconveniences: no wifi, only cash payment. 
Close to an un impotant road, so rather quiet in the night.

Great little place for a night, maybe two. Good kitchen facilities and room with a bathroom. Slept very well (wheher partly from lack of sleep from other places or not I'm not sure!)
Would recommend for a short stopover.

I got a nice room here for 440 NOK. It is clean, offers a decent shower with hot water and towels and bed sheets r also included. Furthermore, I like the big window and the little kitchen right across the bed. The bed itself is kinda hard but I like that better than those soft ones. Concerning the owner of this place, he was very kind to me and explained everything in detail. And yes: you have to get up early in the morning in order to pay for your stay as he also works as a guide and thus is away for the most part of the day. But after you've paid you can still stay in your room until high noon. :-)

Quite and simple motel with nice wooden cottages. Very friendly staff. They are not always present for check in because they are frequently doing wildlife safaris. But they left the room keys for us to take from the reception and everything was ready when we arrive for us. Incredible muskox safari! A must see!

Good for short stay

We stayed there for one night and as there's very little in the town of dombas, we went for this place. 
There was nobody in reception when we got there but a list of guests names on the door and their room number. The room was clean and comfortable although we had to make up our extra bed we had required. It's equipped with a kitchenette and has a private seating area at the front. Towels were supplied but there was no toiletries and the next morning, the water was cold. 
Also as the owner is also a guide, he leaves early so you need to catch him before 8:15 to pay for your room (cash only).
The next morning, we were ready to leave quite late and didn't really appreciate having the cleaning stuff and bucket of water right outside our door. 
Wouldn't stay there again, the guy wasn't very friendly either. 

Very basic 

Honestly, I can't really come up with a good reason to stay here, other than it is the cheapest place in town.  The hotel is plain and simply old, worn out and tired looking.  You are about 1.5 kms from town and about 2kms from the train station.  It fronts the main highway through town, so road noise is an issue.  The rooms here are very basic with a minimum of furniture.  The mattresses are thin, about 10cms thick on a bed that is maybe 75cms wide.  There is a small kitchen area to self-cater, but it looks like it's been there from the 1960's.  Still, there is a refrigerator and stove, but no microwave.  The bathroom is OK, but as worn out as the rest of the the room.  The hot water takes an eternity to get to the faucets.  There is no wi-fi available.  Payment is cash only.  The one and only redeeming part of staying here is that the hotel manager also conducts musk ox tours in the nearby Dovrefjell National Park.  For that he is very good, and honestly, I would tell you to stay elsewhere, but contact the manager if you want a skilled and experienced guide to take you into the mountains.
