In this hidden gem you will find peace among the barns and farmhouses and can enjoy the silence in the garden. Hesla farm is one of the oldest farms in Gol and has beautiful buildings with an exciting history. The earliest mention of Hesla Farm in written history is from 1528. Here you can stay in several different storehouses, an old Hallingstugu and other farm buildings from different time periods. The barn has been converted into a breakfast room for guests. See my attached photos from some of the buildings and rooms and you will understand that this is a very unique place to stay! We stayed at “Hallingstugu” and really enjoyed this building with fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The house was furnished with old farm furniture. Before breakfast in the morning Ligia (the host) who was so friendly, showed us around in the barn, breakfast room, the bar and all the others dining rooms. Everything was so authentic and nice. After that she served us coffee and waffles. We got a nice talk for more than an hour, and that made our day! It is one of the best places we have ever stayed in our country. The price was absolutely fair. If you are looking for something rustic and really special, with a personal touch, this Norwegian Paradise is the place for you! We are sure that we will be back soon!
