I loved it here. Our first campsite in Norway. Yes, it’s ‘retro’ meaning there aren’t posh amenities and you need a 2 pin plug to get electric (the owner lent us one!), but it was beautiful. Beautiful weather (Grimstad has the most sunshine hours in Norway.) The site is a grassy area at the end of a ‘sea loch’. I watched oystercatchers, gulls, jellyfish. A boy fishing caught two fish in quick succession from the jetty. So quiet and peaceful. Stayed 2 nights, but would love to go back. Great to open up the van doors in the morning and feel the sun and watch the water.

For sure, it’s quite a sober experience, but for us this is a very positive thing! Our small cabin Laura was on an excellent location with a great view on the beach and sea. Facilities are clean and quiet. The whole setting is very spatious. And the area is excellent for walks, sea trips, fishing, etc. We arrived late July, what is apparently the end of the season. Therefore it might have been somewhat more relaxed than in the high season. But for is that was all we needed! Loved the stay! 

Close to the sea with a nice beach. The area is sheltered from noise and trafic. This is a place for relaxation where you connect with nature. The camping is driven by a local family. Thank you so much for a nice experience :)

We couldn't find anywhere reasonable to stay in Grimstad, so we rented a cabin in this campground.  The cabin was fun - very quiet, low cost and a good hike into town.  We took a taxi a couple of times into and from Grimstad.  We found a TV in the office and watched the World Cup with locals.  The place was very quiet - not a busy time of year there.  We cooked in the cabin, but it was a bit of a walk to the restrooms.  Wi-fi was available close to the office, but our cabin was too far for good coverage.

This campsite is situated at a totally romantic and scenic end of a fjord. With a small beach, take a dip when the weather is warm, though the water might be chilly. 
Very friendly and helpful people at the reception. You can order bread for the next morning. Nearest supermarket is about 10 minutes driving by car.
Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Lots of families but also couples. Quiet in the evenings and at night.

Toilets, showers are a bit outdated, but they work just fine. If you expect basic camping, this won’t dissapoint you.
The kitchen is small but fitted out quite well: 2 wash basins, 2 electrical plates for cooking, a grill, a microwave, a water cooker, 2 coffee machines, a table with 4 chairs, plates etc etc. Gives you a cozy feeling. 
There is a TV room as well, but as we had great weather, nobody used it.

Canoes for rent. 
When asked, the reception provides a booklet with about ten great cycling routes. We did 3 with our own MTB’s. We didn’t see bicycles for rent at the campsite. But you can hire some at the Tourist Information at nearby Grimstad.
If you don't mind basic camping, we surely recommend this scenic and quiet campsite.


Stayed here for 2 nights, was a nice small campsite. Not to many fixed spots like other campings in the vicinity (around Grimstad), which I think makes the campsite a little more relaxed. 

Placed in a bay a couple of KM off the main road (E18) and 5 KM to Grimstad. Main campsite is an open field for putting up your tent (or camper etc). Beautiful spots along the waterline (fjord). Showers and toilets are a it outdated, but clean. 

Showers are payed (10kr) and are decent, there is a kitchen available with equipment, fridge and freezer to use. Wifi connection is ok :-).
