Enter. Relax. Breathe, this place is a small, familyrun Mountain hotel/Lodge 7 minutes off the main road. Not pricy at all, very cozy rooms, and it's genuine through and through. The family that runs it have owned the farm since the mid 18th century (1760), and have run the hotel sice the 1960's. They are mountaineers themselves, and can arrange guided hiking tours for you or give you great tips for your next hikes. Great food, awesome location, quiet, cozy, great decor, great breakfast, the bread was soo good, and the coffee is wonderful, all good things. It was such a great place to be, we did Jacuzzi and benchpresses in the gym, too! A good starting point for all your hikes and excursions. Beware of Salto,  the family herding dog:-) He will find you, and he might try to herd you, or monitor your safe departure😆 We will return soon to this place.

A true gem 5 min off the main street in Beitostølen - highly recommend it!

If you want peaceful, cozy living with excellent restaurant during your hiking holidays Gronolen Fjellgard is the choice.
Guests seems to be mostly adults who like to go outdoor activities starting early morning. Basic but good breakfast includes in room rate. Some of hikers bought also meal for their hiking journey, and there is ' Lunch boxes' available. Sauna and jacuzzi can be ordered. Owners and their staff are very kind for everyone. Clean and peaceful room. Short car driving to Beito Center. We went also for Via Ferrata, founded it Via fjellgard's website. Good quality!

Pleasant stay and tasteful food for hikers and Via Ferrata lovers

I have just returned from an amazing week at Gronolen. Stayed in one of the large apartments with two friends, their two kids and my own two. The apartment was really nice. We had plenty of space and also a nice living room area to relax, play etc. The apartment was also well equipped so that we could have made our own meals. We had however opted for full board at the restaurant - something we did NOT regret. The food was absolutely amazing. Great selection and high quality. 
During the days we skied at Beitostolen ski resort only a short drive away. The resort is the perfect place for family skiing, to teach toddlers their first turns on well-groomed runs and with beautiful views of Jutonheim. For the more advanced skiers (I have myself skied more than 50 weeks in resorts like Val d'Isère and St Anton) the small resort of Raudalen just on the other side of the valley and only 2 km from Gronolen was like discovering a hidden gem. Steep runs and loads of powder between the trees. 
Bottom line: We will be back for much more and can't wait to get back there next winter - or summer for that matter where hiking and other mountain thrills awaits the lucky visitor

Absolutely amazing place to stay

Visited here with friends for a seminar. From start to finish it was wonderful. Accommodation fantastic, food was exceptional, especially the homemade bread and jams.  The staff were friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much. Cleanliness very good and I could not recommend it enough. 

Then you go outside and are simply awestruck by the views. You simply have to visit. 

Amazing

The hotel is nicely located near Beitostolen, Norway. The Two owners are brothers, one is the chef and the other is everything else. Round the hotel are chalets .
The landscape are gorgeous  and well marked  with mountain and valley tracks.
Experience a romantic evening here , go for a stroll round the lake and you´re ready for the best night ever in this area.

Gronolen Fjellgard   is the place for gourmet food.

I stayed there with a family member for a night last weekend. The hotel was charming, quiet and close to all the skiing trails, and only 4km to the skiing resort in Beitostolen.

More impressive was the very helpful and hospitable staff - they let us eat breakfast before the 'formal start time', and also didn't ask for credit card info until the checkout time - which is actually trusting the consumer/guest a lot!
