This hotel is amazing, all views are fantastic out over the water,  and there are nice little sitting areas in the back. There is also a quiet sitting area next to reception inside for cold days. Breakfast and dinner buffets are well worth it. 

Lovely hotel on the water.

As the title says. No pleasing some. The hotel prices are what you'd expect to pay on a bus tour... 😂 I know. I drove these type of tours throughout Europe, Ireland and the UK. Believe you me, I've had to stay in some rank rotten hotels. This hotel is certainly not really the worst. The staff and surroundings are wonderful and as for the comment regarding cash machines, bring money with you.

Moaning Minnies

Quaint, old fashioned hotel with stunning views of the fjord. Clean and comfortable, but decidedly (and charmingly) not modern. Lounge areas packed with memorabilia and knickknacks, super friendly staff and delicious food. We stayed as part of a Trafalgar tour, and were there in a historic heat wave. What a better way to cool off than a quick and cold jump off the dock into the fjord? Amazing! The hotel is peaceful and restful. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Stunning views of the fjord

While the hotel does not have all the modern bells and whistles, it had character and charm which I loved.  It was very comfortable and the room was spacious. But you don't or shouldn't spend your time in the room - go out and explore the stunning location.

Comfortable lodgings with stunning view

The hotel is located on the fjord and the views are amazing. The decor in the public areas has lots of wood and is authentic to the area. The restaurant food was good. Our room was poor, a 2 star at best. It had stains, loose electrical outlets, uncomfortable beds, no hair dryer, fridge or safe. I do not like to be negative however this is a fair assessment. 


Poor room, lovely view and decor

We loved the view of this  hotel and the interesting interior. Our bus tour stopped here for the night. We were amazed at the location, staff was exceptional and friendly, and the food was excellent for dinner and breakfast. But . . . after reading reviews and viewing pictures I was shocked to see a clean but broken bathroom where the soap dispenser fell off the wall, the toilet seat fell off the hinges and we felt very uncomfortable. The room was subpar and I was upset with Trafalgar not taking care of the room issue. The excuse from the hotel is that it’s sold- what good
does that do for guests now?

Not the Room we Expected!

We visited this hotel, during our roadtrip to Norway, just for one night. I can't say we were satisfied with our accommodation, since the rooms were extremely small, looking old, the window wasn't closing and the beds were too tiny. There was a nice bar room though, reminding of the Vikings era. Nothing special

Hotel was ok, had character but was pretty dated rooms we ok very dated carpet and furniture, bathroom small but ok noise from downstairs outside bar area was a pain. It had average beds, generally it was just ok 

Bus tour

The name of the hotel tells you that you can expect to stay near the Sognefjord and can have a night morning run or evening stroll along the Sognefjord, hence do remember to request a fjord facing room and enjoy the spectacular view of the Sognefjord. 

Hotel facilities are very basic hence please do not expect much, but you can certainly expect to have a peaceful night rest. However do remember to bring along an extension cord as the plugs in the room are not well located, hence an extension cord would be necessary.

Buffet Breakfast is very basic and simple and one should have no problem to start a new day with some nice coffee or tea, plus a nice morning stroll along the fjord.

Simple and Basic

Hotel is on the road with heavy traffic and you have a chance to receive room facing the road, just several meters from it. In this case no fjord view and lot of noise. In addition to traffic some staddy, not loud but irritating   noise perhaps from  kitchen vent. In this part of building no elevator and you  have to carry luggage upstairs yourself.  Furniture old and squisy.
